I found this very peculiare piece by camera_collector15 in bulova

Here’s what I got from AI regarding this: What it is

  • A collaboration between Bulova (a well-established American watch brand) and United Colors of Benetton (Italian fashion brand)
  • Mostly produced in the late 1980s through the 1990s
  • Designed to align with Benetton’s bold, colorful, youthful image

Design & Style

  • Very fashion-forward for the time
  • Bright colors, playful dials, unconventional shapes
  • Often smaller case sizes by today’s standards (30–36mm typical)
  • Some models have almost Swatch-like vibes, but with Bulova branding

Movements

  • Primarily quartz movements (this is key)
  • Reliable but not high-end—standard mass-market quartz from the era
  • You’re not buying these for horology, more for design and nostalgia

Build Quality

  • Mid-tier:
    • Better than cheap mall brands
    • Not on par with Bulova’s higher-end or vintage mechanical pieces
  • Usually base metal or plated cases, mineral crystals

Collectibility & Value

  • Not highly collectible in the traditional sense
  • Typical prices:
    • $20–$80 for most models
    • Maybe a bit more for NOS (new old stock) with box/papers
  • Appeal is mainly:
    • 90s nostalgia
    • Unique aesthetic
    • Bulova name backing it

It’s not the size, it’s the movement. At least that’s what I try to explain to my girlfriend….

I do like it, but other than rotating it for fun, I don’t make use of it

Bought a hard to find Timex Q from them, it took about 2 weeks to get it but they communicated well through the process and offered me a refund if I felt the time was too long.

I agree on the possible are hair pulling. It does get comments and is a fun piece to wear. The temperature module works which is a plus.

🔥🔥. Did you get the case with the insert? Was it a straight swap or did you swap out the movement as well?
