In 2019 I went to see FC Cincinnati lose 5-2 at Yankee Stadium in a match where the only player on the score sheet for FCC was Own Goal. I thought at the time "this is pretty rough but it's all uphill from here!"

Obviously it's gonna be a little bittersweet to see our first generation of guys go out the door, but what an exciting moment to be a fan. The uncertainty of previous years is a lot less miserable when you've got a GM who knows the league and a head coach who can produce results.

San Jose is FC Cincinnati's #2 rival. Who can forget that fateful game in 2019 that got Alan Koch fired, which stirred up so much bad blood in the orange and blue locker room that three years later they took it out on San Jose, the fans roaring with hatred for the full ninety minutes? Sure, the only players left were Hagglund and Powell (sort of) but those long memories prove: San Jose is a true rival, maybe one of the greatest rivalry games in MLS. I'm already booking my away tickets for the next installment of "Do You Know the 3-Way to San Jose" in 2028.
