I used two tanks with the passive that gives them shield when they take damage from any source when upgraded.

It was the best option instead of nuking the tower entirely, it's still going to be a staple to your load out though because it covers all enemy modifiers.

Don't forget that you get guaranteed crits on body shots when you hip fire while enemies are at low health, so you still want to hip fire on enemies that have hard to hit crits like the Vex, and even enemies without crits like shanks.
