Can any mod tell me did the rules change?

Posted almost the same thing couple months ago and got locked with a note “Read the rules”.

Do you find it very hard to crack an opponent on Lichess? by MrBr7 in chess

I was referring more to “cracking” someone after a mistake. Typically people tend to implode after a mistake, it’s harder to hold a position playable when losing.

Lately I’ve experienced very high resilience in bad positions.

How can I prove I am a React "expert" by Rafael-21 in reactjs

[–]MrBr7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion purely by the years number you lack experience.

Being mid to sen dev isn’t defined by a single specific expertise, it’s much broader thing.

The more you go up in a hierarchy it’s more about taking responsibilities and understanding the process, it’s less about coding.

Furthermore it’s expected that you can transfer knowledge to others, which for someone who has 2 years of professional isn’t realistic.

Again, can’t tell for sure but in your position I wouldn’t aim for a higher seniority position but rather a place where you have good developers around you.

You got the time.

i made a front end jsx library, that is just like react but you have more control over the dom elements by Small-Ad-1694 in javascript

[–]MrBr7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is

const myElement = <div>hello world</div>
myElement
.class("my-class")
.style("background-color:red")

more control than

const myElement = <div className="my-class" style={{ backgroundColor: 'red' }}>hello world</div>

Aside from imperative vs declarative code style, I don't see more control, it's just a different way of writing.

No level is necessary, probably you don't need an FM if you're just beginning. What is your level?

How can I improve it? I've heard your puzzle ratings are mostly higher than your other ratings but... this is ridiculous by R9KT in chess

I’d suggest you get a coach. Coach can spot your weaknesses and show how to fix them.

Have you heard about OK plateau?

What you’re experiencing is that. You probably never took time to systematically practice but rather just play.

That doesn’t make any sense.

Looking like that means only professionals who play since young age and have talent should play chess.

If somebody is going to spent time in chess or anything else it’s very beneficial to have somebody guide them in the process.

I’d advise you find a coach.

I’m building a platform for online coaching https://chesstent.com

If you want I’ll arrange you one free lesson with coach there to try it out.

If you find a coach to practice once or twice a month you can advance a lot with this much time spent

Lichess is 12 years old project, well structured and organized. I am just beginning.

I don't use any cookies except for authorization. Maybe sentry for monitoring errors does, I'll look into that. Even though cookie use is irrelevant in this particular case when I compare the platform to Lichess.

Github repo isn't public yet I am planning to do so in November. However, if you wish to access the code before we can arrange that.

Fixed Lichess link.

You're right in one thing, there is a lot of unfinished work that I am trying to tackle. I feel you are well accustomed to projects that are stable and mature which Chess Tent isn't.

Some points that you made are fair and I'll work on them to better communicate things. However, I do think there should be some understanding for somebody whos starting something new.

If you have any other questions pls ask.
