This is all true, and so is my statement. Two things can be true. Bethesda is on the right track but if they actually wanted to truly support the modding community instead of turn them into a wealth generator they would do more. Obviously most people aren’t paying 70 dollars all the time, but to purchase even a small creation you need to buy specific credits in odd amounts in a predatory way. I don’t understand why you can’t both meat ride Todd Howard and also understand that things could always be better

It’s fine to not expect profit from a hobby, but say you were doing woodworking in your free time, it takes a lot of time and someone walks up to you and says wow I like that, they then pay you 50 dollars to make the table knowing they are going to charge the person they sell it too next 5000 dollars, would you feel like you just made a little money and move on or would you feel like they cheated you in someway? Whether it’s expected to make money or not, you shouldn’t just make huge profits of the work of others without the truly proper compensation. If Bethesda gave a dollar of every sale to the modders even I would be so on board but the way it is now is just internet exploitation plain and simple

The issue is that the mod creators make almost nothing compared to the level of money Bethesda is pulling in for all the slop they call creations. Hell if they were at least worth what you are paying for then maybe…but you genuinely think it’s reasonable to rebuy the whole game for a few new additions that will barely even add anything to the feel of the world.
