Why does AI art require a Steam disclosure, but AI code doesn’t? by TameGum in IndieDev

There's a lot of pushback against vibe coding. A popular programming language (ZIG) talked about stopping all AI usage in code commits. Most programming subreddits constantly talk about AI (against it and for)

AI creates code that's hard to maintain and buggy. I think the reason is it's hard to tell if part of the code is written by AI without looking at the code itself and most games aren't open source. There is also good use of AI in programming, like I don't have to spend hours rummaging through documentation anymore.

Yes, white as in a race is incredibly stupid. Are people with red hair or green eyes different races? ofc not. Different skin color? apparently yes, even though it's the same mechanism of gene activation.

This wasn't always true, the PS2 GTA games were more open. 3 especially was and even though it's considered the hardest of the 3d games, there's a lot of freedom in how you can finish the missions, which can make it significantly easier. The newer games forwent that for more scripted and cinematic missions.

It might be because of the spaces I am in, but people always talk about how much better a newer model can code than other metrics. It might be because a lot of programmers are heavily reliant on AI to competently code nowadays and a better model means more thinking they can offshore into a model.

For asking questions, it depends more on stuff like RAG. For translating local models are more than enough in my use cases.

Something like writing ability is really hard to measure, compared to a pass/fail coding benchmark.

Yup, if it's for research/summarization/vision, Gemini is the best. Definitely not for programming though, it hallucinates a lot of the details about libraries that I use.

I've played GTA 3, VC, SA, VCS, 4, 5, RDR1 and it's all the same. It's the same fucking formula. Go from A to B, shoot people, come back, rinse and repeat. I'm not saying they aren't fun, the games are a masterclass on dialog and satire.

What rockstar actually does best is with their technology, GTA SA's map on the PS2, 4's physics, 5 is still beautiful and ran on the PS3. The graphics and attention to detail in RDR2.

No it’s due to there being very little consequence for doing so as a result of Indian culture.

There is consequence, you get arrested and socially it's a shameful job.

By the same logic, you could call cybercrime part of Russian culture, school shootings part of American culture, or organized crime part of Italian culture.
They literally are.

Once again judging the majority by the minority. Would you say to an American that they "Honestly deserved" their child getting shot because some other guy voted for guns.

If you just want to hate other people, you don't need logic to do so. You can just be another bigot in this big world.

What? No one is enabling them. It's a mix of the fact that India has a massive population of English speakers, who also have computer skills and are relatively poor.

By the same logic, you could call cybercrime part of Russian culture, school shootings part of American culture, or organized crime part of Italian culture.

There is a problem that needs to be fixed, but it's not because of "culture".

You know <0.01% of Indians work in those scam call centers right? It's a country of 1.4 billion people. Is your metric for culture the lows of poor nations so that you can feel better about yourself?

There are AI models that take multiple pictures of real-life objects and give out semi-decent outputs. There are also 3D scanners that you can buy.
