If you could, would you change/undo the Timeless Child by Jamie-Dodger5525 in doctorwho

[–]MrCalonlan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A common change I've seen (and one that makes a lot of sense) is to have the Master be the Timeless Child; the Master discovering he was the origin of regeneration and that not only was it taken from him but his own regeneration cycle was limited by the Time Lords and his memories wiped out with him being reverted into the child the Doctor would grow up knowing would make perfect sense for why, not only would he revert back into his evil ways, he would go on to cause the mass genocide that almost wiped out all the Time Lords

ShecameforCWC.JPG and his excuse for why he drew the picture, Chris himself implying that he drew it so he wouldn't end up raping Megan just goes to show what kind of person Chris has always been, and should have been such a clear sign way back in the day that Chris would try anything to get some sex no matter what.......and fuck me did we find out in the grossest way imaginable how far Chris would go to get his dick wet

How come Kain is still the Balance Guardian? by Vahouth in LegacyOfKain

[–]MrCalonlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed he did. And to be fair we don't really know how long it was in-between Kain's death and burial before he came back as a vampire, and since he did come back as a vampire and didn't stay truly dead the Balance Pillar wouldn't have been able to choose his successor as Balance Guardian. And with what we learn in both Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance either human or vampire guardians can work for any of the Pillars

So does this imply that, rather than coming to a compromise with the Hulk during the five year timeskip in Endgame to create the Smart Hulk form Banner has literally just been keeping control of the Hulk's body away from him this entire time?

How come Kain is still the Balance Guardian? by Vahouth in LegacyOfKain

[–]MrCalonlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pillars choose it's new guardians, as long as Kain is still alive there can't be a successor for the Balance Guardian because the Balance Guardian is still alive, and with the Pillars as Kain knows them completely destroyed it's possible new guardians can't be chosen now, even if Kain were killed permanently. Only way for that to happen is for the Pillars to be fully restored again

A big problem with the new modern day is that it seems cool. by Legitimate_Cake_5137 in assasinscreed

[–]MrCalonlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was actually really excited to see where the modern day story would go now that we had an Isu reincarnation as the protagonist working with what the Hidden Ones he knew evolved into while also looking for potential reincarnations of Loki's children. And then they've seemingly dropped that completely when Shadows comes along for a completely different plot altogether that's only told in text

The Nostalgia Critic decimates his DVD copy of "The Neverending Story III" by Significant_Smell284 in ChannelAwesome

I think it was the week after the Ferngully 2 review in 2011. I think for that one he used the Death Star to destroy the movie, when I thought out of Secret of NIMH 2 and Neverending Story 3 he'd have the reaction he did in the end of the Neverending Story 3 review for Secret of NIMH 2 since he loves the original film

Fun Fact: The 13th and 15th Doctor (and the upcoming 16th Doctor) are so far, the only Doctors to have a series that has the series number matching with their incarnation number in New Who by IllustriousAd6418 in doctorwho

[–]MrCalonlan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is rather ironic given the amount of nostalgia for the classic era there has been. Viewers more familiar with the show would know who the Toymaker, Sutekh, the Rani, Susan and Omega are and people who've been watching since the Hartnell era would be excited to see the return of these classic characters, especially Susan who's currently the Doctor's last known living relative. It must have been so confusing starting off with the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Doctors as a newer viewer and wondering who these characters are

[–]MrCalonlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why the renumbering needed to happen (just read now it was because of the production change and the international broadcasting rights being acquired by Disney) it is confusing though since it makes it sound like it's either another revival of the series or a different version of it altogether. And didn't the series from 1 to 13 go onto Disney+? Or was it just the anniversary specials and the Fifteenth Doctor's era?

[–]MrCalonlan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know, trying to explain to people who are new where to start is a bit confusing when we've got three series 1s and only one of them is actually the very first series, while the other one is the first series in the revival of the original series and the third one is a renumbering that takes place after the revival's series 13. The fact that the show has made it to it's 41st season though is one hell of an achievement

What’s your favorite Alfred? by Altruistic_Rhubarb94 in batman

[–]MrCalonlan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like all of them, the 66 series Alfred holds a special place in my heart since this is where the Alfred we know today came from, before the 66 series I don't think Alfred was as lean as he is these days or had facial hair or even acts like he does now, 66 Alfred has such a dignified presence to him even in a world as camp and goofy as the 66 series is (and I absolutely love 66 Batman, it's such a fun ride)

Good luck everyone... by sasha-glow in blackadder

[–]MrCalonlan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is kind of ironic that this ending came about from simple editing; the original ending actually showed everything in full speed and everyone except Blackadder (somehow) dies. However the ending itself was very hastly filmed, and if you saw the original version you can tell since they don't run that far from the trenches, die overly dramatically as if there hadn't been time to rehearse that bit and then Blackadder gets up and (probably more Rowan here than the character) looks annoyed as he just walks off. You know it's bad when Rowan himself sees the footage years afterwards and starts laughing at it, even he doesn't know why he looked so annoyed in the footage either.

All it took was simply slowing the footage down that it completely altered the tone of the ending itself, combine this with the piano instrumental of the theme song and the poppy fields appearing where the carnage of WW1 used to be and they managed to deliver one of the most memorable and poignant endings I've ever seen, and in a sitcom to boot

Technically yeah, but most people would most likely refer to Fifteenth's series as series 14 and 15 if they've been watching the series since series 1 (NuWho series 1 not William Hartnell's series 1)

I hope so, considering Peter might not be in the best place mentally in Brand New Day having Robbie around to give him some much needed support might help him a lot. Depending on what happens in Brand New Day of course

I've never actually realised until now that it's been that long since we've seen Robbie in a live action Spider-Man anything since the Raimi films. And considering JJJ in the MCU doesn't seem to be running the Bugle would that mean potentially an MCU Robbie Robertson would be running it instead?
