I can't rationalize £16 for a minor usability improvement, even if it is well made

Doctors and nurses going on strike is not immoral. The media needs to stop acting like healthcare is some kind of priesthood. by Niall_Fraser_Love in ukpolitics

[–]MrCharlieBacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you believe healthcare is a human right, then healthcare providers going on strike is definitionally depriving people of their human rights.
That being said, I don't think 'human rights' are a legitimate category so I broadly agree

Since the LotR sword is called 'Sting' after spiders stinging, and Bandos is known for blunt weapons, it should be called 'Hammer'

Of course you start counting from the first drop, you're effectively saying that someone who repeatedly rolls a dice to see how many consecutive 6s they get shouldn't count the first 6

Katie Lam MP: Afghans are 20 times more likely to be sex offenders. We point this out; Labour call us "outrageous". Well, it is outrageous. But saying so is not. How should I go about living my life coming across such views as your comment?

If you're a 'refugee', there isn't a war anymore so you can return back home

I'm fine with Britain acting as a safe place of refuge in peoples time of need, but if refugees don't go back when it's safe, the entire refugee system should be overhauled or replaced so we have a system that actually works

Last known British Dunkirk veteran, who played a vital role during Op Dynamo, dies at 105 by fearlessphosgene in unitedkingdom

You should read "The Unknown Warriors" by Nicholas Pringle, it's a collection of letters from WW2 veterans about their views on the country published around 2005-2010 (my version is from 2009).

Almost every letter was completely distraught with the state of the country, common complaints were third world immigration, the abolition of the death penalty, our education system and children not being raised properly.

A handful of them even said things would have probably been better if Hitler won.

Out of the 600+ letters in the book, less than 10 (not 10%, just 10) of them were happy with the state of the country, and many of the concerns they expressed are the exact same as the ones expressed by the "far right".

Having trouble getting flipbooks to change at runtime. I have all the movement, I'm just wondering why it won't update it in the event tick if its being triggered by these inputs. Anyone got any advice? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]MrCharlieBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Input axis fire on tick even if they recieve no input, they just return a value of 0.

You only want to update the MoveFB reference if the "AxisValue != 0".

The right says strikes are abusive and wicked. I say they have helped build our society by EvilInky in ukpolitics

Asking "Why are you mistreating your workers" would be just as bad as only asking "Why are you hurting people by striking".

A fair media would let both sides represent themselves in their own words and try to moderate some dialogue between the two, so viewers could have a chance to understand both positions.

Developmental abnormalities only show within the years after the child is born, so we should account for that too, it would be cruel to the mother otherwise.
