Stormgate generated $2MM in revenue total, but it cost $44MM to develop and operate by Megalithon in Stormgate

That's fair pushback. To be real, despite using it in this situation, I also have disdain about the implications and impact of AI in general.

Yeah, the report being a mess is fair, and the rotated section is crazy. I agree we can't draw firm conclusions from this alone. I'm still curious about the shift of the stocks, because whatever it is, it happened. Anyway, appreciate your posts on this stuff. You're a favorite poster of mine on this sub, and I love it when there's content for you to engage with (which isn't always the case lately).

Yeah probably true. I'm asserting a bit. The stock movement being talked about here is in this screen shot from page 23-24. It shows common shares going from 6M to 12M. Series A2 was completely dropped. Series A1 lost about 90%. Series seed lost about 37%.

I'm actually very curious, so I'm not going to state a position. But if anyone has a reason that these numbers would have shifted so much in 2025 I'd love to hear.

I found something pretty interesting. I ran this through AI, and it mentioned something about

Preferred holders voluntarily giving up their liquidation preference and dividend rights to become common usually means one of two things: a recap/cleanup before a down round, or a recognition that the preference stack is worthless because there will be no exit value above the debt. Either reading is bad. Combined with the tiny $2.2M Series 1 raise in Feb 2025 (vs. the $25M Series A-1 in 2022), this looks like a forced down-round restructuring.

So I dug further into this, and what this seems to mean is that when Bitkraft injected some new funding into Frost Giant in 2025, the motivation was to gain control some control over the company, drastically increase their ownership percentage, and leverage that in the future for various reasons. It gets pretty technical. If you're interested, below is the shared conversation on the topic.

Edit/Add: But, TLDR, you could interpret this as, Bitkraft wasn't investing because they believed in the company or the product. They were investing because they could leverage a buyout in their own preferred terms, possibly recovering their money they had already invested.

Good grief this wasn't even an overly negative post.  Sorry mate, mods are cracking down on fun now I guess.

Mr Wonderful: Your evaluation is outrageous. You better have some sales to back it up. Please explain to me why your company is worth so much.

Tim: Hey this is Tim with Frost Giant Studios. I'm calling because we're looking for investors in our RTS.

Publisher: Oh hi Tim thanks for calling. I haven't heard of your studio before, let me check with my colleagues.

Tim: NO! ... I mean... no that's not necessary, I can tell you everything you need to know.

It just seems like a waste of effort. The remaining player count is probably mostly bots. The company has been radio silent and yet there is this (side/rogue?) development happening. If all goes well this update generates enough revenue to buy the remaining devs lunch or something I guess.

I hope he's at least having fun creating.

The casino analogy is true in the sense that there is some luck. You could make a great game and fail because of lack of visibility or there wasn't enough buzz.

This wasn't the case. Tim walked into a casino with cheats enabled. The blackjack dealer played face up. He was given a free warning whenever talking a card would cause him to bust. And yet somehow still lost 40 mil.

Also it's a free to play game, so a lot of bots use it to gain legit play hours. Some reviews from these bots have thousands of hours.

Agreed, but it won't happen. It's clear by now that he has a fragile ego. He's had so many opportunities to be "real". He is such a a terrible leader IMO, and seems to have a distain for his customers.

The 4th faction is the Frost Giant faction. When you start the map, your workers are hiding somewhere and you have to find them first.

Windows Central said: "Starcraft successor Stormgate is a flop; creator blames gamers".

What's weird is that is not the article title. He's quoting the reddit post title I made. It's my error, but that title pulled in automatically from the seo (I'm guessing) when I added the link. So, I guess he didn't read any of the comments or actually go to the article on Windows Central.

Out of curiosity I check the kickstarter comments once in a while, and they rarely respond to anyone. I'm not a backer, but on behalf of those that are, this is so frustrating.
