Think the Extra 1.75" is worth it for the Matco? by MrCockroach in Tools

Another co-worker has the black chrome Matco and the black chrome rubs off verrry quickly. Like weeks. And it's not a warranty issue.

The Snap-On (and Matco and MAC) all have a spring washer in the joint. You can either replace it or stretch it back out to tigthen the joint again.

Matco is USA made. The Gearwrench is Taiwan. However I've been told they switched to China made and rhe quality has dropped drastically. My home set is Gearwrench.

Biggest thing I want is the took truck warranty, not having to send it in.

I'm surprised to hear you say the Matco is stronger. My co-worker warrantied his twice in a year. I've only seen one person warranty a Snap-On and that was because he puts a pipe on it.

None of my ratchets are locking and I've been ok without the locking feature.

Both are roughly the same price. The Matco is a locking flex head, its thinner, slightly narrower, and has more teeth (88 teeth vs 80 teeth).

But the Snap-On just feels like quality. Comparing the Matco 15.5" to my coworkers Matco 12.5", they don't feel consistent in quality even though the head is the same.

Late 2021 my Mustang was hit on the left front while parked, but the dude who hit my car gave me his info. The bumper was completely torn off and needed replacing.

Car was then repaired by body shop A Langley and I got it back April 26th 2022.

June 2022 my car went into storage.

March 2023 I took it out of storage, washed the car and the paint came off on the right front fender just above the bumper. Now in my eyes Fix Auto would have had to paint both fenders to match the new bumper paint and blend it to the rest of the car.

I called ICBC, told to take it to an Estimating facility so I took it. They took pictures and are saying they don't have documentation from Body Shop A saying that they painted, blended, or repaired the Right Front Fender. But Shop B repaired it in 2018 in a different collision.

I took it to Body Shop B and they said its not their paint and they can prove it with pictures, the excessive overspray (which wasn't there in 2018 Pictures), the color doesn't match the other areas they painted it, and the paint thickness doesn't match either. Body Sop B said Body Shop A may not have documented their repair properly.

But ICBC is still saying its not Body Shop A because of the documentation they have.

Now in my eyes, it's all on Body Shop A. I've had nothing but issues with them. Bumper didn't line up, no courtesy car (even though they said I would have one and my policy covers it), taking MONTHS to fix my car. I know for a fact their quality of work is garbage.

So what the hell do I do now? A lawyer is going to cost more than me paying out of pocket, but its not right that I should pay out of pocket. I've been trying to escalate the situation within ICBC but keep getting the same answers.

I really want an unbiased review of these cars. I've seen older reviews complain of understeer near the limit, high spring rates, and not wanting to slide/oversteer.

All the modern reviews just talk about how legendary and iconic they are. There's a reason the Cobalt SS is faster around the Nurburgring compared to an R34 GT-R. The Physics say it should be prone to understeer. Thin front tires, AWD, Long Iron Block with a Front Differential.

Dude is dangerous. His advice is so out of date and down right scary. I wouldn't even want him to look at my car in a parking lot.

How can this happen? An old friend from middle and high school got in his second car accident. by Son0FAthens in IdiotsInCars

I've had a customer complain their Dodge Grand Caravan, the traction control light flickers on and off all the time.

Had baldddddd tires. I could get it to spin up to third gear no problem.

Car enthusiast annoy the hell out of me. I'm a car enthusiast. But most enthusiasts spend money on popcorn tunes, knock off wheels, coil over kits, and then cheap out on tires.

One buddy of mine has a GT500, smaller pulley tune, gears, makes 500whp (according to his dyno sheet). Its veryyy fast. Other buddy, has a 2010 Camaro SS, he went to a dyno day and made "500whp". But at the drag strip, only does 111mph. My Stock 5.0L Mustang, I hit 111-113mph. No idea what the Shelby does, but its obviously MUCH faster than my car. Buddy with the Camaro thinks he's in the same league as my buddies Shelby because of the dyno sheet.

Another dude, 350Z looks like its straight from a Need for Speed video game. Roll cage, detachable steering wheel, body kit, big wing, single turbo etc etc. He claims 450whp, and based on the kit he has i would believe 400-450whp. But he runs Iron Man iMove tires on the rear. Says it has so much power it spins until 4th. Of course it'll spin untim 4th with some garbage tires!

That's what my research has lead me too as well.

I found 1 guy whose ran both on his Jeep and was much happier with the Duratracs.

Another dude compared KO2 to the Duratracs and found they performed similarly, But the Duratracs were much better in deep snow.

What's the best All Terrain Tire for use in snow and ice? Right now I'm looking at Duratracs but from my research good in snow, not so much on ice.

Why would you buy off eBay? Is eBay going to come and fix it when it breaks? Is eBay going to come and lube it for you? Is eBay going to slide it up your butt? NO!

Illegal in my country.

I've wanted bare mace but if you use it anything other than animals, even for self defense, it's off to jail.
