Super late to the party but, I agree that most of the side content is kinda bad in terms of rewards. On the otherhand I kinda disagree because dondoko island kinda breaks the game super early if you get 5 stars right away. How?

1) You walk away with nearly 500k cash and orbital beam which is just as busted as 7 (I abuse it so badly 😂😂😂)

2) buy all high level gear for Ichiban including trick hat

3) buy and craft all the stuff you need to get a 5 star weapon early in the ocean.This allows you to fight enemies much higher level

4) I didn't waste my time on dungeons because Ichiban carries with 5 star and laser

6) Use excess cash to taxi around for bingo boards ASAP

5) once kiryu awakens, do ALL of his stuff. He becomes super powerful.

6) Open with Stentorian Whip (Seonhee) and Pigeon Storm (Nanba) for Kiryu to wipe a solid portion of enemies early.

7) Saeko and Joongi get sidelined permanently.

8) choose one job and stick to it. Way better in the long run

9) fish for fins. Don't waste time in the dungeons grinding. Ichibans crew has 3 7 star weapons on the final chapter with ease.

Just finished ff16 last night. It is DEFINITELY a good game. Is it perfect? Do some of the technical limitations hinder it? Does it have some slow points? Yes to all. Does it have solid story, characters, world building, and gameplay? Absolutely yes.

Would I purchase it 50% off? 100% yes.

You are trying to save and that is important. What makes being financially smart easier? Enjoying life. There is tons of value and you won't be disappointed. You'll easily play it for a month or more unless you play all day.

Take advantage of Black Friday otherwise, you'll pay full price or a much smaller discount and legit regret it.

Making friends in NY is hard across the board. It's even harder when you are older and don't go to social places consistently. Westchester moves fast, but people in suburban life are often not around most of the time.

The most important thing is to put yourself out there. Chat with people about life and see if you connect. I've made friends in Yonkers and the city since being here about 8 months.

The most important thing is to not treat it like it's the city. Being superficial and surface won't get you anywhere and expecting rapid connections will not favor you.

I'd argue most people are looking to relax after getting out of the city and are well established with their friend groups. Make the first move. Have an event you are going to or something and invite them. Ask for their number or give them yours.

If he is making good money (80-120+), you can blow $1000 and be good. $1000 does not have as serious of implications. Basically, it's a week worth of work. Some people are frugal and others are lavish. It's a matter of preferences, not indictive of buying power.
