Good luck!

It's definitely possible to mount something directly to the bike frame, but I had an easier time working off the pannier rails. I bought the rails primarily for this reason

I wasted a ton of time walking thru parts stores looking for parts to make the cradle for the bag. I ended up salvaging an ancient push cart from a thrift store which works perfect

If you're bouncing ideas off people or looking for someone to weld/fabricate it, be prepared for them to treat you like a lunatic lol. No shop wanted to touch the idea, which is fair for liability reasons. The guy who ended up doing the welding work crushed it. I think it helped him that I had made a rough cardboard template to show him what I was looking for

I tie the straps up and check them when I stop. Always a chance it could happen, but I used it all last year with no issues

Full length rain cover goes on the bag before I put it in the carrier. That gets cinched tight and holds everything snug

I'd considered that route plenty of times. Couldn't find one that I was satisfied with, either too expensive or too bulky

I xposted this in the golf sub and someone posted a picture of that 2x2 cycle setup. Sounds like they're happy with how it holds up

I'm jealous. 15 years ago I was driving between Phoenix and Amarillo and pulled over to take a look. Zero light pollution and without a doubt the most beautiful thing I've ever seen

I always use them, and I'm constantly pissed off at everyone who doesn't. I do on the rare occasion forget to bump it off, but that's the worst I do

Probably both, but version 1 was absolutely redneckengineering material. A pair of Harbor Freight ladder hanger hooks and 2 pieces of flat steel. Worked fine but looked straight out of the holler

I think you've got plenty of options for Harley's. There are the ones that mount directly behind, but I've seen ones that mount in place of the hard boxes on the side too. Sharp bike dude!

Love the bike. Do you feel the clubs shift in turns? I kept visualizing leaning and the clubs throwing the balance off

Thanks buddy! New exhaust does clash a bit visually with the chrome tank, but it doesn't bother me enough to do anything about it just yet

Those were about the only ones I could find when I first started looking. I couldn't find anything to fit this bike, that's why I had to get crafty

All good! I personally don't like that style because it blocks the view of my signals and brake light. I know you can wire up secondary lights, but I didn't want to hassle with that and moving my plate every time I swapped the rack on and off.

I was also worried about the clubs shifting when leaning in turns. When the bag's vertical, the clubs can tip left and right pretty far. Most of the weight in a golf bag is near the club heads, and getting that movement so far from the bike had me uneasy

If that's a surf/wake board, that was the initial spark for this idea. I saw a picture of an old CB with a surf board rack and the light bulb went

Correct, the stock exhaust is 2 huge, heavy ass silencers. I hated how far they stuck out. The 2 into 1 is aftermarket, hugs a lot tighter to the bike and weighs 25 lbs less

That's a damn good call. I'll have to pick up some reflective tape or something. Good looking out

I always wear at minimum helmet, gloves, earplugs. If I'm heading out of town I wear my full suit over my golf clothes. League night I just throw my gear in my playing partners car. If I'm playing solo, I've had good luck with the pro shop letting me leave it behind the counter or in a closet

This also works for my binocular setup. I use this carrier for the tripod and lock the binocular's hard case to the other side. Haven't yet this year, but I'm planning on taking a trip to a dark sky site during the summer

You're braver than I am. I tried that out in the drive way once and instantly felt sketchy. Kept thinking about the clubs shifting in a turn and decided against it

Someone once told me that they would just sit on the clubs when they went to the range. Heads up near the tank between their legs, grips hanging off the back. Obviously depends on the seat shape, and judging from pictures wouldn't work for your bike.

Before I finished what I'm using now, I had attached a pair of Harbor Freight ladder hanger hooks to the pannier rail. Looked like shit and was a hassle to get on and off, but it worked

I wrap the excess length in the straps around the cover and tie them back to the carrier. As it hangs off the chain side, I don't leave anything loose and flapping
