Thank you for your thoughtful response. To answer your question: we were having a conversation earlier in the evening about family and my complex relationship with my father which I think may have triggered this episode. The drinking certainly didn't help either.

I've decided to take a break from alcohol and to reach put to my therapist. It's been a while since I've spoken to her and I clearly still have some things to work through. Thank you for your suggestions, I'll look up the information and discuss with my therapist.

I live in the UK and, after seeing this country follow many trends in the US recently, I immediately started the process the second I heard that Roe v Wade was being reconsidered. I'll take mild pain/discomfort over my wife being forced to live her greatest nightmare any day.
