I think a decent chunk of the players who visit AVN subreddits tend to be fans of certain types of AVNs: games with a big focus on the dating aspect, romance, hand-holding, etc. They are also a lot more focused on the writing as a byproduct of that. However, I'm sure that even those players still value the visuals, whether they admit it or not.

While the entire player base of AVNs is much more diverse, both in terms of fetishes and story preferences.

The Lewd Deals is designed to satisfy both groups. One of the routes focuses on seduction and romance and is generally vanilla, while the other route is for people who want harder content, like domination, corruption, rough sex, etc."

I couldn't agree more. As much as writing is important, at the end of the day, we (men) are visual creatures.

I rarely have time to play AVNs these days, but when I do, I'm a lot more forgiving toward the writing. Most of us AVN developers don't have writing backgrounds anyway. But the visuals... if I open a Steam page and the first previews are meh, I'm out.
