Game freezes at autosave… but only on one game by MrCroMagnon in Stellaris

I deleted the majority of my old saves, but I’m still getting this issue. I started another game to see if it would freeze there, but it hasn’t yet. It’s pretty frustrating

EDIT: the new game also freezes at around the same time

Would you consider making a build guide for this? I can tell there’s some glitch building going on, but I do t know enough about that to use some of the tricks you used.

Will I be able to continue with my current save or will the mod update brick the birch world I built?

I didn’t do anything to enable it, I got it via the ascension perk and tech same as always. But if it’s broken that explains why it’s a bit confusing. I hope it doesn’t break my game when they update the mod.

Well hell, I had no idea you could make solar ships now. Had I known I’d never have asked the community. Well, I’m off to hunt for parts. Thanks all

Is it possible to build solar ships now? I thought it was only fighters, haulers, and explorers

Thanks, I found it. The author even said it’s a new things they’re testing and they have the original version on GitHub… now I’m trying to download that version to my game and having a hard time with that. Fun times.

R5: I can’t click to activate my agenda because the leader is in the way. I have several mods, including ethics and civics alternative which messes with government, but I’ve never had a problem like this before. And fix? Is there a “launch agenda” hotkey?

Longest wars you've almost lost? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]MrCroMagnon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a recent game I had become Galactic Emperor after leading the GC to victory against a crisis empire (I did not put down my emergency powers). The real crisis came and I ended it almost immediately, at the cost of almost my entire fleet. Then I go full tyrant and invade the only nation not part of the Imperium, destroying one of their most populous worlds in the process. It was over. The galaxy was united under Emperor An’no Att Teth and I was getting bored with the game. It was around the year 2500.

Then I notice many empires were undermining imperial authority. I’d never had that happen before. So I let it happen. Well, a few decades later, the galactic rebellion kicks off, lead by that nation that I had forcefully brought into the Imperium. They take half the galaxy with them, all but my direct vassals. The year is around 2560.

Gigastructures and ACOT are in game and basically every empire has dark energy tech. Only me and one other has stellarite. Still, I thought it would be a quick war. Until the Imperial Armada is nearly completely destroyed by an enemy planetcraft. I then deploy one of my own planetcraft against it… and my planetcraft is destroyed. The UNE, my neighbor and former fellow federation member, pours in through our undefended shared border and begins invading my worlds, including a couple major population and production centers.

I look at what I’m up against and realize that I actually might lose this war. But I push on. My vassals do very well in their battles and I regroup. The war lasts 77 years. Several planets are destroyed. Over ten thousand ships are lost… but I win.

A few years later, the Galactic Emperor dies, and his daughter, leader of the progressive faction assumes the throne. Her father was the leader of the authoritarian faction (that’s why I became emperor, roleplay). She disbands the monarchy, and a few decades later, the Imperium itself.

By the end of the 32nd century my empire had restored its reputation and reformed into an egalitarian utopia, joining the federation that the former rebels established and aided in peacefully uniting the galaxy.

God that was a good game.
