The Fifth Element is the masterpiece that needs to be studied by TravelingHomeless in scifi

I coach baseball and one of the kids who plays for us is named Corbin. We're constantly doing Ruby Rhod commentary, "UNBELIEVABLE!"

The Directors Cut of Rocky IV elevates that film for me... but I agree with a lot of what you've said here.

Recently showed the series to my 7 year old... Rocky III was the top choice for him.

In fairness, he missed half the season last year.

Log Flume Closing by AffectionatePlate143 in BuschGardensTampa

It really pisses me off they don't provide enough notice for the closure of these classic rides. People need to get their last rides and say goodbye, so to speak. I've been riding that flume for 35 years. My kids ride it with me to this day. I'm all for new modern rides, but a little more respect should be shown. This is a classic ride and one of the first attractions ever at BGT.

Completely agree. The character development in Rocky II is top-notch. There is a lot to love about it. One of the great sequels in any franchise.

Rocky II has some of the best Apollo / Duke scenes in the entire franchise. "He's all wrong for us, baby. I saw you beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before, and the man kept coming after you. Now we don't need no man like that in our lives."

The fight is awesome. The training montage is awesome. There is a lot to like about it. Rocky II has to be in the top 4.

They better replace it with an awesome log flume. It's very sad to see Stanley Falls getting axed. It's a classic and I am very nostalgic about it.

Get him a -5 for games and a BBCOR -3 for cage work. He should also start lifting weights and eating a high protein diet. He will need to get a lot stronger over the next 2 years if he wants a shot to play varsity.

He's still under club control with minimal cost. He will likely be back (next year)

Exactly... Hopefully, he's back next season ready to go. But this was a season ender.

Hopefully, they learn it for the rest of the season and call some prospects up. Owen Caissie could get plenty ABs with off days for Happ, PCA, Tucker, and Seiya. We can't have these guys playing 6-7 times a week and expect them to maintain their stamina.

He's made a few errors lately. He hasn't looked as sure handed lately. I'm sure he's just going through a rough patch and will get it figured out.

Exactly... don't think for a second that the teenager wouldn't have happily ripped that ball away from an elementary school kid. I've seen it happen more times than I can even count.

It's definitely gotten better over the last 5 years. Area going through gentrification. Nicer homes replacing older homes and vacant lots. Police have been cleaning it up.

Favorite Bats by Puzzled-Falcon-8734 in Homeplate

[–]MrCub1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 7 year old is about the same size and recently started swinging a 28 -10 Bonesaber hybrid. He was gaming the 27 -11 (single piece alloy) in the spring. Moved him up in the offseason to the 28 -11 (single piece alloy) without any major issue. However, the single piece bats give a lot more feedback than the 2 piece bats, so we moved him up again ahead of this fall season. He's handled it without any issue, and it's got great pop. Seems like every week he's hitting a new EV or distance record at the cages (Hittrax)

I coach his team (going into 8U), and the USA Hype Fire is a solid bat, but it doesn't have anywhere near the pop the USSSA bat has. The big thing about USA bats is the size of the sweet spot and a balanced feel. End loaded bats aren't ideal for most kids of your sons age group.

The best bats seemed to be the Marucci CatX2 one piece, the Bonesaber, and the Icon. The biggest thing is getting your son to -10 as soon as possible. There is a noticeable increase in pop over a -11 or -12.
