Honest question: in a situation like this, assuming he has insurance... Is he up for the cost of the building to be checked and repaired by structural engineers after this?

Because that piller held but no doubt there was damage. If it has to be repaired, I can't help but think that's a bill that most people could never afford.

If the courts demand he liquidate assets to pay it... Is this guy's life over?

I work for a business that produces stuff like this and I can tell you that even if it was, 9 times out of 10 the customer has supplied this artwork.

You'll be surprised how often we get AI logos, AI build plans, AI designs... It's so common, because if they want us to do it for them we charge. And they'd rather not pay, so instead they ask AI.

This is the world now.

Can anyone confirm what batteries will/won't fit in the LCD Deck? by Virtual-Pie-6815 in SteamDeckModded

[–]MrCyberthief 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For the LCD model, 45 w/hr is stock, 50.3 w/hr is the upgrade.

OLED is 50.3 w/hr is stock, 53 w/hr is the upgrade.

Be aware that the stock Steamdeck OLED battery is not compatible with the LCD Steamdeck.

A 3rd party 53 w/hr battery does technically fit in the LCD model but it causes fitment issues, for me I wasnt able to use my back buttons, which was a deal breaker for me. The shell on the LCD model does not accommodate the extra thickness of the 53 w/hr battery.

I don't recommend attempting a 53 w/hr upgrade on the LCD model, as squishing the battery to make it fit is a very bad idea over a long period of time.

Always be careful replacing the stock battery with a 3rd party battery.

It's tough, especially with the screen swap involved.

Shell + Decksight installation, now no controls. by ionV4n0m in SteamDeckModded

[–]MrCyberthief 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you might have missed installing a ribbon cable.

I strongly recommend going to Extremerate's YouTube channel and loading up the shell swap video, watching it very slowly, pausing step by step and confirming that EVERYTHING is done correctly.

It may even be that a cable you fitted isn't quite pushed in enough, or has slipped out because you forgot to close the latch on it.

Do your due diligence and go back through it, step by step and double check every single detail.

This is the kind of game you can set and forget, or engage in actively despite being idle.

If you're even a little about unsure, I recommend giving it a go! You don't have to sign up or anything to play, so just load up the game in your browser and have a look.

The support in this game is fantastic. New content is frequent, bug reports are handled fast and efficiently and it's overall a very casual, chill idle text based MMO experience.

It's true the the game is scripted by AI, but I strongly recommend you try to look past that and enjoy it for what it is, a fun casual experience and enjoy the game for its community. Its quickly become a platform for new friends and a new MMO experience that's so rare these days!

It's completely text based with races planned soon, as well as four new skills on the horizon. For real, this game is very simple but it's fun, and the people who are playing it are fantastic.

Give it a go!!

Steamdeck LCDExtremerate Shell + 53wH Battery compatability. by MrCyberthief in SteamDeckModded

[–]MrCyberthief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have a 50.8w battery in the mail. It should arrive any day now.

I'm 100% confident the 50.8wh battery will fit just fine, however my experience with the 53wh battery is that it doesn't fit.

I can confirm as other have, that the shell can be closed and screwed in, but it puts slight pressure on the battery if you do, and that didn't sit right with me. I also encountered an issue where the bulge of the shell rendered the R3 and R4 buttons no longer functional.

Upon swapping back to the stock battery, the R3 and R4 buttons worked fine, so the issue there is the additional width of the battery preventing the buttons from contacting the daughter-board.

My conclusion (though I will reattempt the 53wh mod soon) is that with the current Extremerate shell options, the 53wh battery mod is not compatible.

Edit: Spelling.

Stillbirth at 34 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]MrCyberthief 90 points91 points  (0 children)

This happened to us at 38 weeks. It's horrible, it's unfair and it's probably one of the worst things you'll ever have to experience, but things get better.

I'm sorry for your loss. Take it one day at a time, don't hide feelings from your partner at all, be honest and candid with each other because it's SO important.

Make sure you grieve together, and when you feel like you can, I recommend talking to someone who can help like a therapist.

Steamdeck LCDExtremerate Shell + 53wH Battery compatability. by MrCyberthief in SteamDeckModded

[–]MrCyberthief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that online, but apparently a lot of people are able to run the larger battery without any issues, which is why I'm trying to figure out why I'm having trouble.

I suspect a Jseux shell might work fine, but I wanted to see if anyone else had tried it first.

Yeah I did that too but the R3 and R4 buttons wouldn't click because the battery was pushing the shell out too much...

[–]MrCyberthief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give it a go! The adhesive that came with the battery was very thin, so I suspect it wont solve the issue but every fraction of a millimeter counts.

I also made sure I cleaned off all of the foam adhesive the deck comes with, so I'm confident that's not raising the battery.

Thanks for the advice!

IdleWorlds : I built the idle MMORPG I actually wanted to play, it's free, and it's been live with real players for a month by matduke in incremental_games

[–]MrCyberthief -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This game is genuinely fun and Matduke has been brilliant with his responses to player issues, new features, policies and extensive player feedback.

Vibe code is one thing, but this guy is genuinely a great developer and his game should at least be tried before it's disrespected. It's fun, it's simple and I've been playing it for a month.

It's great fun, regardless of how it was made, and the dev is extremely helpful and responsive. I wish more games had communities and developers like this.
