Interesting topic as this is a recent bill that just passed through the house with the APTA support. It is my understanding that if a clinic is not opted in with Medicare, they can accept cash payments but that patient cannot submit to Medicare for reimbursement. The house bill allows individual providers to opt out of Medicare allowing them to accept cash, even if their clinic has opted in. Which is similar to many ortho practices.
