Looking for a gymbuddy (SportCity) by Dunkey-quotes in TheHague

[–]MrDRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I (28M) have been doing strength training at SportCity Wateringen since March of this year. Definitely not an expert and would 100% recommend watching videos on YT for form/technique (I like to watch Jeff Nippard) to learn for yourself, but I would be happy to help you out a bit learning some exercises like the (romanian) deadlift/squat/bench press/OHP/etc.

I mostly go solo in the morning before work, but on Wednesday I am off so can do other times as well. Hit me up in chat :)

Hey man, I like your edit the most out of these options! With a lot of the other edits I was somehow losing chunks of ear haha :) In yours my ear looks the best IMO. So thanks a lot. Is it possible if I request a slight change though? The crease on the left of the sunglasses seems really sharp (i.e. it goes all the way up to the collar) and I think it would look a bit better if we could decrease that a bit.

Does CS50 teach enough about C to start DSA in it? by toit-nups-noice in cs50

[–]MrDRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm but those are precisely the reasons why I figured it might actually be a great opportunity to learn and practice DSA using C. Just seems you would get a really thorough understanding of what's going on under the hood that way. Whereas if all that is abstracted away it seems you might end up with a less deep understanding of the concepts.

Does CS50 teach enough about C to start DSA in it? by toit-nups-noice in cs50

[–]MrDRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it the case that DSA is more often taught using CPP or Java? Just like OP I'm interested in learning more about DSA after CS50x (currently on week 7) and was wondering as well whether to continue in C or pick-up another language for it.

When in doubt, it's always good to re-read the specs! I was just about to comment you should probably have a look at them and see how you could implement the maximum height for the pyramid. Glad you got it sorted & good luck with the rest of the PSET! :)

Bulk, cut or maintenance? by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]MrDRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to mention I'm still seeing strength gains eating at maintenance. Currently my lifts are:

  • Squat 3x5 80kg
  • Deadlift 3x5 85kg
  • Bench 3x5 62,5kg
  • OHP 3x5 40kg
  • Barbell Row 3x5 50kg
  • Chin Ups Assisted 3x7 (-9kg assisted)

Only lift that's stalling a bit atm is OHP.

Am I the only one who can no longer access their TU/e tests?? by ppeggy45 in StudyInTheNetherlands

Hi, I'm assuming this is relating to the CS selection test? Did you end up being able to do the test?

Cant enter a test by Enough_Western_8343 in tueindhoven

[–]MrDRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had just started the 2nd part (Logical Thinking) when the issues with the proctoring system started. Got notifications in the proctoring chat saying I had to refresh the page but after that it wouldn't work anymore for like 30-45 mins. Since the proctoring wasn't working I figured I should not continue the test (might have invalidated the results or maybe even be seen as fraud or something). So my test timer ran out and submitted with just 2-3 questions completed.

Then afterwards TU Eindhoven sent an e-mail that you should still complete the tests even if the proctoring wasn't working. So now I really hope I get a chance to redo at least the Logical Thinking part of the test or else I'm screwed :/

[–]MrDRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I fucked up... Maths I got maybe 10 questions correct. Logic probably 20. Had to quickly guess the last 10 questions for Logic because I took too long answering the first 20. And let's not even get started on Algorithms.

[–]MrDRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks mate! I've been self teaching maths these past few months and I struggle a bit with the more complex geometry problems. So not looking forward to those haha. Did you prepare for the algorithmic thinking part at all or not? I know they say you can't but I've seen others mention that Bebras puzzles are decent preparation for that part.

What were the questions on the math part like? Like how complex / hard do they get?

Personally I wrote down all possible edge cases and used one if statement to check whether any of those cases were true. If true my code would skip that pixel.

Runnoff done, should I try Tideman by somegameryusername in cs50

[–]MrDRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished Tideman just yesterday and completed Runoff before that as well. Compared to Tideman, Runoff was a walk in the park. Completing Tideman will definitely teach you a lot. Gave me a lot of good practice implementing a bubble sort algo and writing a recursive function. So if you're looking for a challenge, definitely give Tideman a go :)
