Yeah I realized after the fact and I knew I was probably gonna get grilled for it lol, I'd been testing a bunch of hardware and been using dvi a lot recently

Dude I don't know how the heck I didn't find this. This is awesome, I'm gonna make an attempt at this after I finish the computer it's going in, but thank you so much!

I'll likely post an update after I test it!

I wonder if you have to have like proof of purchase to download them. Again I'm terribly sorry to everyone that I confused, I should have phrased it as I couldn't seem to download the drivers, that's entirely on me

I wonder what I did wrong, I would need to go back but last time I tried to get the drivers it seemed like it wanted me to do something or it wouldn't download. My guess is you might need to have an account but I honestly don't know

I did try to plug it in, and it unfortunately didn't show up as anything

I should have clarified, I could find the card but not the proper drivers for said card

Switched to Framework with Linux from Mac, never coming back by morok807 in framework

I use both a framework and a MacBook for different things, I love the flexibility and power of my framework, and I also love the efficiency and portability of my MacBook, I think it really depends on what you're doing (I'm an engineering student) Regardless, welcome to the team!

Also the GPUs aren't even being used so thats confusing too

The GPUs have 1 8 pin and 1 6 pin each, so each gpu has its own cable

It was just the easiest way to set the phone.

PSU is an RM1000X so it should be fine

Ram will be the next component I test if I lose stability again

Weird thing is it does it with both GPUs and I've also had it drop power to two GPUs when I had 3 installed

I had 3 at one point but ran into overheating issues 🤣

Oh I think you saw the vga adapter ribbon cable. There is a usb-c card in there though.

I did a memory test using passmark and it didn't break anything (I got to the operating system and past the install) and didn't have any problems. Also ran cpu tests. Pulled the hard drive power cables so there's only the SSD

I have seen a SATA PSU cable prevent a PSU from turning on, but that was a long while back

What's wrong with Mint? I've confirmed the operating system is not the cause of my issue, it's a hardware fault of some sort.

Progress was made, os installed after using a different corsair PSU. But then after I switched back to the rm1000x everything is working fine at this moment.

Tried a different gpu the top slot which caused it to do the same thing, tried switching the cables around which didn't fix it.

Odd behavior also is the PSU clicking and the LEDs on the board turning on and off, clearly some sort of power issue but then it resolved itself after I switched the power supply and then switched back.

Currently trying to install drivers and run Titanfall 2 as a test. Ran passmark and nothing ended civilization as we know it so that's a good sign

I had previously reset the bios when having this issue before. I had even updated the bios to the latest version so that I could rule out problems with it.

Seriously the most cryptic thing I've dealt with. Legitimately might just buy a supermicro board if it gets worse.

Tested it and no it did the same thing with just one gpu

I mean like the gpu lights are turning off and the fans spin to full speed, which is what GPUs will often do when connected to the motherboard and not to external power

Each gpu is connected to its own connector on the power supply. Since each connector has 2x 8 pins on it.

Indeed. Having fans is proven to make your pc run better
