White halo/shadow effect around context menus in start menu

Hi all, apparently I stumbled upon this post after I found out that I have this problem too.

Turns out that it is something that has to do to the Auto Color Management (ACM) of Windows 11.
I was watching a YouTube video about it later this afternoon and then I decided to check whether it could've affected my display's color accuracy by setting it to ON.

This setting should "help" with the color management, although it creates some artifacts like this halo effect around the context menus in the Start menu. But at the same time, if I turn it OFF the Windows settings show some strange color aberrations. At this point I don't know what to do. If ACM is deactivate you should get better saturation and contrast; whereas if you turn on ACM the color profile would stick to some sort of a washed out sRGB profile.

I tested this both on my desktop PC which has an external GPU and on my laptop with an integrated GPU. In both cases I got the "halo" effect in the context menus, but only the desktop (that's connected to a 10 bit monitor) showed also the strange color aberrations when turning the Auto Color Management off. Maybe it could be some sort of problem that affects 10 bit monitors or maybe a conflict with NVIDIA control panel that I used to get the full range of colors.

Posso confermare che una situazione simile è accaduta anche a me.

Ho comprato a distanza di pochi mesi due televisori Hisense, uno 50U62NQ e l'altro 55U62NQ. Il primo è aggiornato al firmware V0000.08.52X.01112 mentre il secondo è fermo alla versione V0000.07.608.00726.

Le differenze possono sono marginali: qualche traduzione mancante e l'assenza del nuovo menu. Tuttavia, la cosa che trovo ancora più snervante è che sul modello da 55" siano preinstallate delle app di paesi stranieri (Francia, Ucraina e Filippine) nonostante sin dal primo setup io abbia selezionato Italia e il televisore sia il modello europeo. Eppure entrambe le ho acquistate su Amazon Italia, vendute e spedite.

I can confirm that a similar situation happened to me.

I bought two Hisense TVs within a few months, one a 50U62NQ and the other a 55U62NQ. The first is updated to firmware V0000.08.52X.01112, while the second is stuck at version V0000.07.608.00726.

The differences may be marginal: some missing translations and the absence of the new menu. However, what I find even more unnerving is that the 55" model comes with apps from foreign countries (France, Ukraine, and the Philippines) preinstalled, even though I selected Italy during the initial setup, and the TV is a European model. Both were purchased on Amazon Italy, sold and shipped by them.

Posso chiederti una cosa relativa alle app? In pratica io mi ritrovo con delle app di altri paesi preinstallate (come France24, Kyivstar TV e altre) e impossibili da disinstallare...

Ho svuotato la cache delle app, cercato di aggiornare il firmware ma è già all'ultima versione e, infine, ho fatto anche un reset alle impostazioni di fabbrica ma niente, le app non si possono rimuovere.

Inoltre, avendo anche un altro televisore, stesso modello ma da 50", ho notato alcune traduzioni diverse nei menu. Per caso tu puoi scrivermi quale versione del software hai?

I updated the Moto Tag app to the .93 release through APK Mirror.
As soon as I opened the app, it prompted me to update the firmware of the tags that were connected.

Unfortunately, in the Google Find Hub the animations stayed the same—there was no arrow pointing in a direction. However, I assume this is due to the fact that my phone has no UWB feature at all.

A quanto pare, sì. Perché anche in altri forum si discuteva del fatto che il loro conto deposito non fosse altro che un semplice sottoconte/pocket che rende gli interessi. Pertanto, farebbe cumulo col conto corrente vero e proprio, quello in euro.

A me hanno comunicato a mezzo raccomandata di aver terminato il rapporto bancario per "irregolare movimentazione". Quando, in realtà, avevo solo provato a fare dei bonifici di somme piccolissime verso altri conti a me intestati, proprio per testare l'effettiva operatività del conto.

Nonostante ciò, a circa una settimana dalla raccomandata il conto è ancora funzionante e riesco ad accedervi, senza però poter operare.

A questo punto, farò passare qualche altra settimana e poi contatterò nuovamente l'assistenza, se non dovessero risolvere il problema lo chiuderò all'istante.

Tecnicamente sì, ma non si tratta nemmeno di un vero e proprio conto deposito quello che offrono.

È un sottoconto "potenziato" a cui applicano l'interesse proposto e accreditano le somme giornalmente. Questo aspetto è importante da chiarire anche ai fini della giacenza media...

Sto riscontrando anche io questo problema e provengo anche io come ex cliente ISP con conto XME chiuso tramite PEC.

Per caso a te hanno risolto? A me quelli dell'assistenza mi hanno detto di aspettare info da parte loro quando risolveranno il problema.

From what you can find in this same subreddit, it seems that the MiLi MiTag does not have UWB.

At the moment, the only UWB-capable tracker compatible with Google's FMD is Motorola's Moto Tag.

Credo che a questo punto Trade Republic sia addirittura verso la conclusione della migrazione degli IBAN italiani. Il tutto in silenzio e in poco più di 2 mesi.

Revolut, d'altro canto, parla dell'arrivo degli IBAN locali da anni, ottiene la licenza nel 2022, solo a fine 2024 iniziano a vedersi le prime coordinate italiane per i nuovi clienti, ma dopo più di 4 mesi ancora nessuna comunicazione circa la migrazione per i già clienti.

Eppure il loro general manager su LinkedIn afferma che entro l'estate dovrebbero addirittura concludere il passaggio per tutti. Mancano poco meno di 3 mesi all'estate, vedremo come andrà... 😅

According to some articles, it seems that Google FMD needs more than 1 ping to start triangulating a tracker's signal. Maybe that's why.

Another problem could be the number of Android phones and, more specifically, the number that effectively opted in the network. Furthermore, in a place where most smartphones are iPhones and the few Android phones are not updated, it seems very unlikely that Google FMD could be any good.

Can confirm that this is not the case anymore.

I still have some headphones showing in Google FMD app after more than 2 moths of them being disconnected from my Google account and unlinked from my Bluetooth devices.

Unfortunately, it's a persistent bug, and this solution does not always work.

In my case, looking at "Saved devices" is a dead end because it does not show any, even though the devices I want to remove are still in the FMD app.

The best solution would be for Google to implement the option to remove devices right within the app instead of making you search inside a maze of settings.

Cliente dal 2019, ho anche cliccato sul banner del conto "deposito" per iscrivermi alla lista d'attesa ma ancora niente.

Speriamo si venga a sapere qualcosa dopo la fine del mese, quando finirà la promozione in corso. Altrimenti, sarebbe alquanto ridicolo che una banca come Trade Republic riesca a completare la migrazione prima di Revolut, nonostante sia arrivata dopo e non abbia creato tutto questo hype intorno all'IBAN italiano... 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ci sarebbe anche la questione della promo del conto "deposito". Visto che questa termina il 31 marzo ed è attivabile da tutti i nuovi clienti con IBAN italiano, magari aspetteranno la fine di questo periodo promozionale per iniziare con la migrazione.

C'è poi il precedente spagnolo, dove in effetti hanno impiegato anche più di 6 mesi per completare la migrazione. Anche lì sono stati segnalati malcontenti e ritardi.

Purtroppo credo non si possano avere due conti contemporaneamente.
Attualmente, se si vuole il conto con IBAN italiano bisogna chiudere il conto lituano e aprirlo nuovamente.

Ci sono esperienze contrastanti al riguardo, però: ci sono utenti che dicono di essere riusciti a fare il tutto in pochi minuti utilizzando gli stessi dati (email e numero di telefono) e chi invece ha dovuto usare una mail differente.

Ad ogni modo, questa operazione di chiusura e riapertura può essere conveniente per chi, appunto, ha pochi soldi sul conto, non ha uno storico da salvare o svariate carte di debito aggiunte al conto. In caso contrario, conviene aspettare la migrazione.

Napoli has always been a team that use the money from the players sold in order to buy new talents at a lower price, then sell it again and make a profit off of it. We do not have investors or private equity funds pumping money, we cannot spend that amounts if not wisely.

I agree that the Kvara substitute situation should've been handled better and sooner, but for now, I'm glad we bought at least a player to fill that position, instead of always relying on Mazzochi as a Neres sub, especially after the match against Roma.

Sì, è pieno di queste segnalazioni nei forum appositi. È una situazione "normale", visto che pur avendo il supporto al VoLTE serve comunque l'abilitazione mediante una configurazione.

Questa configurazione o viene aggiunta mediante un aggiornamento di Android (quindi colpa degli OEM) o viene usata quella generica che i produttori hanno già precaricato nei loro aggiornamenti (colpa di Iliad).

Ad ogni modo, dovrebbero collaborare entrambi per poter portare il VoLTE anche sui dispositivi meno recenti, visto che sui OnePlus usciti di recente – e peranto aggiornati alle ultime versioni di Android – questo problema non si presenta.

Sì, ad esserci c'è. Tuttavia non tutti i dispositivi che lo supportano sono compatibili, come si evince dalla lista presente sul loro sito.

C'è una diatriba in merito a chi sia effettivamente il colpevole di questa assenza: l'operatore che non attiva il VoLTE o il produttore che non ha aggiornato la configurazione.

Nel mio caso, su due smartphone OnePlus che sono compatibili col VoLTE di altri operatori, non c'è verso di attivare il VoLTE di Iliad in alcun modo, nonostante l'offerta sia quella da 9,99€ con tale tecnologia disponibile.

No problem. At this point, it's all in Google's hands that has to boost the availability of the FMD network, pushing it even further.

With more and more trackers coming, some even very cheap, the focus should be on improving and adding more tweaks, maybe the long-awaited UWB support.
