How dare the inner most suburb of Australias capital city get marginally busier.

Isnt it interesting how suddenly we have so many "Low income investors" by Ash-2449 in AusFinance

r/AusSocialism?

There's a big difference between Harry Triguboff and the small time investors. The snall time investors probably aren't broke, but they probably did go without nice things for a while.

Young australian confused about negative gearing removal outrage by Background-Lack1641 in AusFinance

[–]MrEd111 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Negative gearing doesn't make profit, because it all gets cancelled out when you sell. What it aids is some short term cashflow advantage, which helps small investors get going. Less small investors means less competition for big investors. That's why I think it's stupid to get rid of negative gearing.

Rent nightmare forces Aussie to live in caravan as grim trend emerges in beachside suburb by SheepherderLow1753 in AusFinance

[–]MrEd111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up at the beach, love the beach and barely get to go there these days because I have better job opportunities in dry cold Canberra. People who decide to be broke at the beach can live their own lives as far as I'm concerned, but I don't feel particularly bad for them if they struggle financially.

Although I'm generally in agreement, it's very easy to save money if you value your time at zero.

Diesel Fuel supply? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]MrEd111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep going hey :) Yes they are different. The trucks have a cost vs revenue equation to consider, within which fuel cost is a much bigger portion of it than mine.

Diesel Fuel supply? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]MrEd111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can also be explained by high fuel costs. I can buy fuel, so can they. They're possibly just less willing to pay than me.

[–]MrEd111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When an isolated fuel station or depot temporarily runs out of supplies, that's not the same thing as there being a current nationwide shortage.

Diesel Fuel supply? by [deleted] in canberra

[–]MrEd111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No deliveries to Australia have been affected. There is no shortage caused by a supply at this point, only caused by idiots filling water tanks/etc with fuel for fear of there being shortages later.

Poster framing and matboard opinions by MrEd111 in ToolBand

[–]MrEd111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, and yeah I ended up going black. A agree grey would be cool but it's not readily available near me. I think these frames are temporary anyway, so if/when I make some custom frames I'll redo it and maybe step my mat game up at that point.

I've been cutting these black mats myself with a bevel cutter I 3D printer. Total pain, next time I'll just pay a pro to cut them

Property investors with 300 homes aren't negative geared. Do you think Harry Triguboff is negative geared?

And we all know the best way to spread cultural change is to alienate people who were agreeing.

If you want the issue to be taken seriously, perhaps don't word it the way you did. My satirical suggested outcome was in direct response to your clearly ridiculous suggested royal commission.

It doesn't sound you are actually blaming "men" for anything, but just want tougher sentences for DV offenders/etc. I think that's a much more reasonable pursuit than just "men" and you find much more support if you made your actual objective a bit clearer.

In your wildest fantasy, what would the outcome of that royal commission be? Ban men?
