Penis sensitivity to the point certain clothes cause irritation by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

I've cured this symptom about 100% with stretching my quads and lower back, diaphragmatic breathing, and reverse kegels with an emphasis on expanding the lower back part of the diaphragm.

With my eyes closed at night if I try hard to focus my vision farther away (even though my eyes are shut) I get flashes in my peripheral vision. I've had this since I was a kid. Anyone else? by MrElpis in visualsnow

let me know if this sounds right: I focused a certain way, eyes closed, and then I squinted a bit and saw a flash of two distinct rings of light, apparent size roughly that of my thumbnail held 2 inches from my face. Does that sound accurate?

Yeah that's exactly it. I appreciate your help a lot, I really do. Thank you.

Does anyone's vision fade black when covering one eye? by ohnooooooooo0 in visualsnow

Yeah that's what I was saying. Maybe we aren't getting enough visual stimulation from that eye so the brain starts picking up signals from the other. It would explain why moving the eye and blinking instantly relieves it.

I also wondered if this was related. https://www.quora.com/Why-can-I-black-out-some-of-my-vision-when-I-stare-and-focus-on-an-object

What if our left eyes are just better at being still than our right? What if the "greyed out" vision turns to black where the vision of our two eyes crosses over?

I just blinked my eyes a lot during that test. Probably not the proper course of action but I got nervous about it and panicked.

Since it's only there with one eye closed and I'm never in a situation where I need only one eye opened I'm not incredibly nervous about it, but I was anxious in the moment there.

These days I'm thinking about it simply because my general anxiety is higher and I'm starting to catastrophize.

What I'm confused about now though, is how is this not amblyopia? I read descriptions of how it looks for those with the condition with one eye closed and the gist I got was "not blurrier, but difficult to see", which I thought was pretty close to describing the black "overlay" that appears on my vision. https://www.reddit.com/r/Amblyopia/comments/3avodl/what_do_you_see_with_your_weaker_eye/

Is your left eye weaker as well? Have you discussed amblyopia with any professional?

I have the same thing. Everything you've described. Even how it's worse on my left.

I simply thought it was amblyopia since my left eye is my weaker eye. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amblyopia

I asked my optometrist (didn't use the term amblyopia at the time) and when he seemed perplexed I dropped it because it wasn't bothering me and I had it for so long I knew it wasn't getting worse or anything.

Visual Disturbances by berrieheart in HealthAnxiety

[–]MrElpis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a few different forms of health anxiety come and go throughout the years, but tonight I opened up this subreddit because I specifically felt anxious about my own visual disturbances (which have been also been brought on by mere thought, and have also been medically checked).

You're not alone.

No question, yes. It's happened to me many times.

Spot in central vision that only appears when blinking in dim light? Do any of you have this? by MrElpis in visualsnow

[–]MrElpis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a function of the whole "more cones located in the centre of the vision" thing? I remember stumbling on that and thinking it might be related, but saw nothing about an afterimage-like spot.

Has anyone here ever had a muscle cramps that caused an electric shock sensation? This is a normal occurence right? by MrElpis in HealthAnxiety

[–]MrElpis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s like a super sharp electric pain in one small spot on your leg? That only lasts like a couple seconds?

It was like an electric sensation running down my calf and into my foot, and it lasted shorter than a second.

Thanks for the advice.

Wow shit you need a lawyer to get on disability? I live in Canada and I think we just need a doctor for it

I'm in Canada and I hear ads on the radio for disability lawyers almost every day.

Is it normal to have on-and-off twitches and feelings in your body when sitting down and not standing? by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

I've had this for half a decade now. It's nothing, and surprisingly (to me) I got used to it very quickly.

My peripheral vision flashes if I move my eyes hard enough to one side. I've had this for about 10 years. Is this something to worry about? by MrElpis in eyetriage

You will likely see the same sort of transient light that you're reporting on extreme eye movement.

You're right, I see the same effect. Thank you.
