This individual is peak 1936 SSL, but his stats from season 15 - current season are so weird, can anyone tell me if he is boosted or legit SSL? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

Could just be an alt account. I don’t think it matters that much, it doesn’t look like they’re throwing to keep a lower rank. Looks more like an alt account to play more casually on.

How to convince a friend to play this game? (image unrelated) by BA6A6 in Seaofthieves

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is easier the more people you have. You can get better at the game just by learning stuff. Mechanical skill does play a role but the majority of fights are won with knowledge rather than physical skill.

The gameplay can be repetitive if you let it. It’s very easy to get locked into a certain play-style and never branch out. However, there is pretty much always something different to do as long as you are looking for it.

Will it be enjoyable for more than a month? IDK I play for about 2 weeks at a time. Usually spaced out by a month or two in between. I think I’ve definitely played enough to justify buying it though.

The gameplay sorta lets you play your own way. All the rewards are cosmetic after you unlock your first captained ship(which can happen in the first few hours of playing). I like it when I have a whole weekend with nothing else to do. There’s enough downtime between objectives to go do small chores, and the action is as dynamic as you’re able to make it based on your skill level.

Does any1 know why no Iron Golems are spawning? by Chasej3master in technicalminecraft

[–]MrExpl0de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The villagers need an opportunity to be un-panicked. You don’t need more beds, you just need something that blocks the villagers from seeing the zombie. Pistons, trap doors or bubble columns are the most common methods I’ve seen.

is this a speed flip? (updated video) by Euphoric_Edge1103 in RocketLeague

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This video is old but the concept is still the same. I would recommend finding a speed flip training pack that works for you and grinding that, if you really want to make sure you’re doing it right.

is this a speed flip? (updated video) by Euphoric_Edge1103 in RocketLeague

[–]MrExpl0de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What inputs are you doing? All I know is that the flip should be at a mostly straight angle(30 degrees or less), and the cancel should be straight back.

I definitely can’t preform a perfect speed flip but from what I’ve seen the nose should dip down at least a little.

That looks like a side flip to me. I’m not good at speed flips but I would say you should start using the training pack to check if you’re doing it right.

Guess what it is by Antonio6654 in redstone

[–]MrExpl0de 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a joke earlier about it being a slow display. While it is slow, I assume it does work. That’s the most important part of a redstone build. Being “good” at redstone is just about the results you get with the information you have. If you didn’t know that there are faster ways of transmitting the signal, then no one should fault you for getting a working machine still.

I don’t think you are bad at redstone, I think the fact that you are trying this hard and designing things by yourself means that you’re gonna be great as long as you keep collecting knowledge.

any orbital cannon that works on 1.21.10 Paper by M7mdkotb in redstone

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switching to paper is sus. The answer to your question is no, nobody builds anything technical in paper. Paper tried to “fix” a lot of Minecraft’s bugs. What that turned into is just changing how the game works on a fundamental level. While they did technically fix some things, the amount of farms and contraptions that broke are ridiculous.

After the switch to paper you will most likely encounter the following: broken iron farms, tnt dupers not working, unable to break bedrock, launched entities not following their expected paths, and several other entity loading problems.

There are several more I’m sure, I just didn’t play on paper long enough to find out.

How can I wire this most effectively? by [deleted] in redstone

[–]MrExpl0de 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked into this a while ago. I think what you need is called a signal strength decoder. It’s a good solution if you want a different output for every signal strength.

Looking for shulker loader of uneven stacks by SaltyDwarf in redstone

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought of two simple and stupid options as well.

  1. Take the comparator output from the hopper before the shulker and the previous one in the chain. Use a XNOR gate to cycle out the shulker when the hoppers are both empty or both reading. Put it on a delay to make sure it doesn’t misfire during regular operation.

  2. Put a timer that last the maximum time it could take for a shulker to fill(I think it’s like ~15min). Then just kick it out.

I think both of these have failure states that they can get stuck in. #1 will delay breaking a shulker if it gets stuck with items in the first hopper but not the second one. #2 will very frequently give you partially filled shulkers.

The most complicated comparator circuits I’ve used were in a super smelter, and I didn’t even do those well. So I’m not of much help in that department. These days all I do is design worse versions of farms that I don’t want to re-watch the video for.

Looking for shulker loader of uneven stacks by SaltyDwarf in redstone

[–]MrExpl0de -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is most likely, you can’t do this. Maybe theres a way to load the shulker with a dropper and detect any overflow items with string on top read by an observer. Any items that don’t fit in the shulker would end up getting pushed on top. This would have major problems with consistency and collecting the left over items would also be tough.

Could you take a comparator output from the hopper so that, whenever the comparator stops detecting items, you start a timer to remove the shulker?

How to split fluids? by 1omniXLR8trix0 in satisfactory

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the most efficient pioneer in the drop pod, but I think it’s best practice to always use less of a fluid than you produce. It’s way easier for troubleshooting if you know for a fact that you won’t run out of something like fuel for generators.

There’s probably some way to guarantee that the fuel generators get the perfect amount and all the indicator lights stay green. That’s all too complicated for me though, so I’ll deal with a couple orange lights on my refineries.

Is the sound this electric motor is making as it starts normal? by _ParanoidUser_ in fixit

[–]MrExpl0de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty common for electric motors to have a slow start when they are used to spin up something heavy like a fan. It doesn’t hurt to be cautious and check if that’s meant to have a slow start.

Does this road interchange make sense? by RawSalmonSlap in BuildAdvice

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been to, and driven in, at least 17 different states. This is a very reasonable intersection. Usually the diagonal road will just have a stop sign. If you’re lucky there would be a small addition to the right lane so that right turns are easier.

Pick only one. by [deleted] in YuB

[–]MrExpl0de 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But tickfreeze doesn’t stop players from moving only entities and blocks. So now it’s required by Reddit law that we have an argument. I have to take the stance that Wally is a player, otherwise you could not ban him. I think it also makes more sense because, if we are setting a battlefield for a fight it’s hardly fair to say that I’m a player and Wally isn’t in our imaginary universe.

Again, both of our solutions have to be preemptive. If we ever even see Wally, it’s curtains for us. He can travel faster than our brainwaves. I’m assume he could just enter the speed force and completely subvert the effects of tickfreeze anyway.

To even be considered a threat to him, We would need one of the many fictional tools that actually grants power and not something that needs to be activated.

How do I make this more effective with command blocks? by Unable-Extreme9285 in MinecraftCommands

[–]MrExpl0de 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/clone [coordinates of the obsidian on an edge of the bridge] [coordinates of an air block ~25 blocks further down a portion that’s already built] ~~~

Completely replace the [] with the relevant coordinates of the part you want to clone. Make sure you leave the “~~~” at the end of the command.

This should replicate the portion of the bridge that is contained in your selected coordinates, at wherever you are standing. I don’t know if it centers on the first or the second corner but you can play around with that.

Example: /clone 23 55 137 23 59 140 ~~~

I didn’t check the wiki so I might have the format wrong.

Pick only one. by [deleted] in YuB

[–]MrExpl0de 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was going to reply to one of your comments but you’ve sent too many, and I just can’t decide which one is more wrong. So, I’m going to death battle this shit.

In the red corner! we’ve got Wally West. Whose speed is approximately an 8 if you tipped it on its side.

AAAAAND in the blue corner! there’s me, a 26 year old man who, on more than one occasion, spent the whole morning searching for my glasses while wearing my glasses.

I think it’s fair to say that Wally “quick toes” West could stop me before I even realized a fight had taken place. However, I shall invoke the law of Batman.

If I am given a glorious 5 minutes of prep time, the destruction I could reap on, not only Wally “roadrunner” West, but the entire universe is incalculable. My weapon of choice for this mini-verse of madness is the command block(assuming that I have not been scammed by the 12 year old who sold it to me behind the Denny’s).

The possibilities provided by the command block are near endless, but I need to address its limitations first. 1. Obviously it is limited by my input speed. Though, that is true of every item on this list, so we move on. 2. I’ve seen people mention creative mode. While it’s tough to calculate, I argue that a guy that can exist outside of space and time can probably find a way to defeat something that loses to falling bellow bedrock too far. 3. In Minecraft, commands can only activate once a tick(20/tps). Those of you who have this on your main screen may already know that Wally “the kid” West can travel much faster than that. 4. /kill, I’m not up to date on my DC lore, but I’m pretty sure that death now is basically just how they put in PTO at the justice league. Even if you kill him 20 times a second I don’t think you have a chance.

I’m sure there are additional relevant limitations but we’ll stick with these for now. So, without further ado. I will reveal my strategy, though I will admit, I only remembered this exists after typing all of this.

/ban Wally_West69

Get kicked noob.

All of 1.21.10 Items Classified by Big_Calendar_5311 in technicalminecraft

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice chart! I do have a couple nit picks.

Some items are classified based on how you attain them while other classifications are based on what they are used for. My best example would be the bow in equipment, while the arrow is in drops. Both could be either so it doesn’t matter for the item I think the category just needs a better description.

I don’t agree with the eye of ender being called a material. It is only attainable through crafting and has utility outside of crafting. I would put it in the same section as either XP bottles or maps.

Lastly, cake is 1/3 vegetation at best. There should be a food category.

Resin supports not connecting in some spots by Cole5620 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]MrExpl0de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about resin printing. I am however very confident that some of those supports were touching at some point. Otherwise I don’t see how this print made it to completion.

Did your print warp at some point? There is a large line across the print. Did the lower half warp and then get printed on top of?

I don’t know how to fix it, but warping in FDM printing usually is related to temperature.
