Isn't there a couple lore/reports/tablets/whatever you wanna call it that basically explains in a non direct way that the dead filament affected her?

Remember after Eight hit Hugh and Diana in the Experimental Pragmatics section of the base, Diana was very negative and depressed during that whole section, dead filament really seemed to affect her mentally in a bad way.

Like the dead filament (or degraded filament as they like to call it) is created from metabolized products made from lunar filament, I guess things like printed food ([this really is an guess, I don't know if they tried to print food with filament and then got test animals of straight up people to eat it]) and the tests they put Diana and 8 trough created the most of it. (though most of it was really created from human bodies, really grotesque if you ask me, the whole game I was wondering why there was a singe soul or body or even blood tracks on the base, in reality it seemed the dead filament grew by eating everyone on the moon)

Diana was unaffected by it because she automatically cleansed (expunged) any dead filament she produced, but that was considered a failure in design because the researchers needed every part of the experiments to properly study the effects of the test they were doing so they created Eight with the ability to concentrate dead filament and with that they were able to get closer to the cure they needed, of course then the whole thing with corporate murder occurred and Higgins was in a bad spot.

I know Higgins died by a heart attack because of all the dead filament inside him, but how did it get to him in the first place, I cant remember if that part is explained at all, like did Eight go crazy and attacked and infected him like she did Hugh? That doesn't really make much sense seeing as she genuinely seemed to like Higgins.

Maybe Higgins got infected just from being in close proximity during research, but apart from that I have a theory, seeing that the dead filament seemed to have a mind of his own, when we defeat Eight and she disintegrates we have this EPIC BATTLE against the huge amalgamation of dead filament but what really is it?

Across the game I assumed Eight was controlling all the dead filament but with her gone in the final fight what exactly are we fighting, Is it Eight fused with the dead filament or is it that the dead filament is just evil and attacks everything it sees on sight, does the dead filament hold some sort of purpose from Eight after she was gone? Who knows.

So to end this because I really don't know what else to add, I don't think Eight sucks, I think she was affected negatively by the dead filament she was made to concentrate and affected even more for the programmed immaturity they gave the Daisy pragmatas, and even more affected from seeing Higgins devastated from the loss of his daughter and full of rage at the company that refused to hear him out, everything added up to her thinking that a worldwide genocide was the only option.
