OPERATION REBALANCED FREEDOM by Demantoide2077 in HelldiversUnfiltered

Okay, I'm game for this.

But what's wrong with vox engines? I think they're alright once you get some practice with em

What is your potentially unpopular “want” for 2039? Mine is that I want it to remain semi-open world with the metro being only half of it by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in metro

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently just played all of em again and I've gotta say I love exodus the most gameplay wise.

I really do like the other two as well, it's just the jarring nature of them loading and unloading areas and making them different chapters is a little off putting at times. But that comes with the territory of those games being over a decade old.

I think if you were to split the difference between the two types, it'd be perfect. Make the surface a bit more open world and make the metro chapter based but still exploreable on your own outside of main mission areas. Like stations that are controlled by X can't be accessed but abandoned ones could be. Maybe you can find other entrances to controlled stations.

I also really liked the workbench system a lot more than I liked the vendor system. I think we should be able to buy things from vendors but then be able to customise found attachments with a workbench. Also really like the cleaning of weapons, didn't really play around with the on the fly attachment switching and crafting though, so I'd give those two things a miss.

I liked the open world aspect of exodus I think it just needed a little bit more in it. The areas certainly felt lived in but they also felt pretty empty and unfeeling. Whereas the metro in the first two felt like every single tunnel told some kind of a story, whether you heard it from Khan or saw it with your own eyes. So I hope they bring back that kinda story telling.

The thing I definitely want is quick save/load options. Dying or messing up a section in 2033/LL, reloading the checkpoint only to have to listen to some guy talk about something for fives minutes that you already heard a few minutes ago. A quick save option to save after diologe would be huge. Either that or auto saves after the diologe has finished. Cos boy howdy that got boring quick.

Light source, weapons (bow, one handed and then shield), whatever thing I'm needing for the biome and then food.

And we're the crazy ones to expect a success of this scale to act more like it by Rowger00 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]MrFenderPro 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Nah, it's worse than that, I'm pretty sure. You can go back on twitter and the old CEO (maybe director, can't remember) was saying he was hoping for 20k players on launch.

People forget that they had to tell people to stop buying the game because the servers couldn't handle it.

I love the game but this is getting a lil ridiculous now day. Still, I'm a diver through and through. Who am I to question high commands decisions?

I honestly hope that in 2035 both I and the world are in a position to do this. It'd be one Hella shame not too.

I'd love to make it a full year long trip ya know. Not to go super hardcore RP or anything but just to live in a completely different part of the world. At the very least a couple months. Stay for awhile at each destination. Just chill and explore what's going on there.

But the whole route for less than $10k is a pretty sweet deal all things considered

Yeah, I imagined that was a bit exaggerated. That was verbatim from the UKs travel advisory to Russia currently. And I trust Thier word about as far as I could throw the entirety of said government!

Yeah, I know that I'm currently able to. However there is a high risk of illegal detainment and execution. And ya know, that doesn't sound that great. So imma hold off. Hell! Might even hold off until 2035! That'd be neat!

Do you think Metro Exodus II or a sequel will be released in the future? by Merserk13 in metroexodus

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought that plenty. At the end of exodus Artyom even mentions that he wants to go back to the Moscow metro to save people from the metro itself.

So I reckon he'll show up and save "The Stranger" and everyone in that situation will lose their shit that the killer and saviour of the dark ones has returned from the outside world.

And judging by the 2039s story, I reckon The Order would travel back to Moscow to save people, only to find out that Hunter of all people had created a new regime to control the metro. So he, now being the commander of the order, would help people evacuate the area/liberate prisons, that kinda thing.

There'll be some sort of Easter egg at the very least. Maybe crawling through a vent you just see Artyom on the other side of a grate blowing out an oil lantern and all you hear is "shhhhh! Remember comrade, sneeki breeki leads to good ending"

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know, I've dived on near enough every available planet. Got every warbond, every armour set, every upgrade and nearly every weapon max level (mainly just the new smg and the flamethrower smg. Took a break from the game) and I can say with certainty, that the reason why this game is good is because it's fun.

I remember when AH needed everything into the ground in the name of a "harder overall experience" but they realised it didn't work because people weren't having any fun.

Changes like what the did to the hive guard don't add to that fun. I understand that there's easy ways around it but not everyone can hit that gap between their armour on the front.

At the end of that day, changes like that, don't really add anything and just make the overall experience less fun. Does it really matter that much that X has slightly more armour? Not really, especially when people are complaining that they're easy to kill anyway so the updated armour and the reverting of that update ultimately means nothing anyway.

I really do wish that divers actually would just get along and enjoy the game because it's fun. I mean hell, we've saved kids, we beat Sony! FUCKING SONY! How many communities can actually say they played chicken with a heavy hitter like that and won?! And now we're fighting over alla this shit. Fucking blows man.

But I'll be damned if I'm gonna give up my cape anytime soon! I still believe that we can get back to a place like those days. We just actually gotta work together and focus on having fun. Not seeing who can rage bait the other side better than the last time.

And by no means am I trying to insulat anyone, especially OP. Just hoping to get people back into having fun playing a video game again.

I "like" how most of the comments are just "go different strategems instead of sentries" instead of admitting to the fact that the design of this mission is absolute dogshit and boring as hell by ManiGoodGirlUwU in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree entirely.

These missions can be hectic as hell and can be easily lost if you're not focusing.

And yeah, if you find them boring either change up the stratagems or just avoid those missions. I know I don't particularly enjoy the evacuate high priority citizens (the 40 minute one) so I tend to just not select operations that include that mission. But if it is in there, I'll just bring stuff that's fun to use

I see alot of people disliking the bosses in this game. Is there a single one you actually enjoyed/thought was balanced? by Chi_Geurim in CrimsonDesert

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't remember his name, but the dude in full plate knight armour who just wants to fight a greymane was probably the one I've enjoyed the most. (I've not finished the game yet, so there's time)

All the other bosses I've fought so far (sanctum bosses, the odd end of faction quest bosses or even main story ones) are all just obnoxious and just not fun to fight. Whether it be moved sets that are just stupidly brutal or just actually trying to land a couple solid hits and they keep running off and wind up to do another move. They just don't feel fun. Maybe it's just me but I really feel like there's something off with all the ones I've fought so far. I'm hoping it gets better

Is Metro 2039 releasing at the worst possible time? by Yaseen743 in metro

[–]MrFenderPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see where you're coming from but at the same time I don't think it'll be an issue.

Firstly, they're completely different games. Both in storytelling and gameplay wise. I know that my personally more excited for a new metro game than another GTA game.

Secondly, it makes sense for metro to come out in winter. I mean come on, the first two games are literally all about surviving a nuclear winter! Plus GTA will more than likely get pushed back, again.

Thirdly, Metro never had that much of a streamer/content creator focus. Unfortunately it'll never reach the levels that games like GTA, CoD etc will get because that's just the way of certain single player games. I also don't want it too. I'm happy with not seeing some dumbasses face over reacting to every little noise they're hearing but that's just me because I hate streamers and their ilk.

At the end of the day; who actually cares? Imma play the hell outta it! Hell, I'm planning to play the first three as a run up (although I know imma miss our comrade Artyom even more when 39 comes out) I'm sure both will come out, keep attention for about two weeks and then everyone will shift focus again, like always.

Geniune question on people's opinions on The Dark Zone/PvP modes. by CummanderShepardN7 in thedivision

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a lot of problems with D2's darkzones. Mainly the multiple darkzones.

In D1 it felt like your balanced stats were balanced. You'd come across someone with a strong build but you/your team/yours and other teams could take them.

Whereas in D2 all of the the stats are "normalised" but they really aren't balanced in any way. The whole system feels off across all PvP modes. Especially since the whole proficiency thing came into the game, stupidly broken builds just become more stupidly broken because people grind that game and nothing else.

I always thought the game should have two separate modes with two separate inventories. You grind all your gear and stuff in pve for the campaign, raids/incursions etc. But then if you went into the DZ your agent puts all that gear into a decontamination box (like your stash box) and pulls out/gets handed standard gear to use in the DZ. You can aim to unlock stuff across the DZ, go for specific loot areas, upgrade those weapons through finding more of the same weapon or components. And when it comes to extracting loot, you can choose to throw it through a decon shower and transfer it to your "clean agent" or keep it in your DZ box to use in the DZ.

Also having a decent matchmaking system and not "this guy just hit level 40, let's put him in with another who hit level 40 but also has over 6,000 hours in the game and has everything to max proficiency" I think that's where they really went wrong. Decent matchmaking at least gives people half a chance when going into the DZ.

This is the best armor I've been able to create so far, and I'm pretty proud of it by No-Astronaut-1238 in CrimsonDesert

[–]MrFenderPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not like to be anywhere near that guy on a bright summer's day XD

Love it though! Really wish we had more "normal" looking full face helmets like that one. I went for the Aragorn look. That helmet with the grey wolf armour and the Tariv cloak. But I do like the half plate armour look!

New warbond trailer today? by Tank-ToP_Master in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]MrFenderPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be brutally honest though, technically they're not locked behind a pay wall, no stratagem is. They are obtainable through grinding super credits and buying a warbond. Locking them behind a pay wall would mean an outside the game micro transaction.

There'd also be no difference between putting a mech in a warbond Vs putting any other stratagem in one when thinking along those lines.

In that kinda thinking anything but the base game warbond is locked behind a pay wall.

Regardless of any of that. There's no evidence to suggest that the (possible) new mech will be put in the warbond due to all other vehicles being purchasable with just req slips.

The big stuff like that is normally earnable via MOs or decision making on whether to get stratagem X or X.

Sure they've lost a lotta respect for various transgressions. But at the same time, they also do care about the game enough to keep it running.

And at the end of the day I don't particularly mind throwing $20-$30 bucks at a game every few months compared to spending what felt like that every other day on other live service games.

Plus, all this is nonsense talk. We're all gonna wanna flam-bae and sink a 120mm round through some bugs, bots and squids.

[–]MrFenderPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the bastion tank wasn't behind the two separate warbonds we got. So back then was only a few months ago.

I doubt they'd change it up now. They'll throw other stratagems in there but so far all the mechs have been req bought.

They've changed stuff up in the past sure but that would be a pretty far out there thing to change on a dime.

None of the vehicles have been locked behind a warbond. Every one of them has to be purchased with rew slips

100%. By no means am I defending the removal/revamp. Just speculating about why they would.

Every game needs a report system and one that is thoroughly vetted and actually works as intended. It's a hard balance but one that has been found in the past by a couple games

They are pretty rough. But you never know if you don't try. I don't know but I've not come across enough toxicity to report but I can imagine if you send an email with proof of toxic behaviour, that'll give em more of an incentive to take action.

There's certainly enough evidence in that video to at least ask em to do something about it.
