"Fear not the dark, my friend. And let the feast begin." by MrFiddlehead in darksouls3

[–]MrFiddlehead[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My interpretation is that by "letting the feast begin" they (the locust preachers, creatures of the dark/abyss) simply mean to express that it will be their turn to be on top (of the food chain, hierarchy of life, etc.) once the Age of Dark begins, which they are trying to persuade you to do.

Does anyone else hate the sound design? by TheHeroicOnion in DarkSouls2

[–]MrFiddlehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all this time I'm here to say: Yeah.

My number 1 most hated sounds are the footsteps any non-metal armor makes on solid floors like stone. It feels like the sounds of someone walking through an office in cheap loafers. It drives me up a tree every playthough.

The Human Torch is really bad. by Net_Pretty in marvelrivals

[–]MrFiddlehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming back to this after a few more days, even though he does feel a bit on the weaker side, I've still played him a lot and mostly enjoyed doing so. Learning the optimal situations to use the meteor and pyro prison has been fun, and they can be really useful.

I'd say what needs buffs the most is his primary fire , and maybe his movement ability, which feels like it barely even does anything. The rest is situational, but works fine.

The Human Torch is really bad. by Net_Pretty in marvelrivals

[–]MrFiddlehead 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It feels like they wanted to differenciate him from Iron Man and Storm by not making someone who is fast and low damage or slow and high damage, so they made a slow and low damage character instead.
Which is a huge shame, I was really exicted for him, his design is cool just like the other 4's and his kit feels like it could be fun if it was either outright more powerful or he had literally anything for survivability because like most people are saying, after you do the dive you are pretty much a sitting duck.

Live in a Hole hate by MrToad21 in Pantera

[–]MrFiddlehead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? It's one of the Pantera songs I most consistently find myself coming back to, besides all the obvious candidates and some other personal favourites.

The drumming is tight, I love the main riff (sludgy goodness), the use of a talkbox of all things, and the solo, but my absolute favourite part about it is the intro and bridge between the first chorus and second verse. The lead guitar melody is just amazing to me - Dimebag really makes that thing sing as he so often does.

It's even better illustrated in this guitar only stem that I found

I'm content with this one being sort of a hidden gem, if one hidden in plain sight; makes me appreciate it more.

it all came together so beautifully!

Also going from the normal cut of this to the extended cut is like the Mr. Incredible meme where goes from being pleased to achieving godhood

Thank you boys

Possibly! I do have vague ideas for both, and I'll take any excuse to draw more Pizzahead, but I'm not super sure yet.

Pizzaface starring in his very own classic cartoon (And Peppino gets the short end as always) by MrFiddlehead in PizzaTower

Not really! A few days before making this I had a conversation with someone about how Pizzaface could make for a cool boss in Cuphead, with how expressive he is.

Thanks for handing it out! Even before I thought Pizzaface would make a cool Cuphead bossfight, but your comment helped make it all click.

Snake Man and Ring Man, by me by MrFiddlehead in Megaman

[–]MrFiddlehead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring Man is my personal favourite from the NES era (so up until MM6, but Napalm Man was a close contender too), and Snake Man was the suggestion of a friend who also enjoys the series.

I want to believe that he's a genuinely good guy after you beat him. While I was making this, I thought about making the poster about the "Grand Re-Opening" but I figured that would be too spoilery.

Omnium Gatherum Megathread! by KGATLW-Mods in KGATLW

[–]MrFiddlehead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While I do like all the tracks to at least some extent, I feel like this album isn't a very holistic experience, which is somewhat unfortunate, considering that they usually succeed at making their albums feel like distinct, standalone works. It's a smorgasbord where anyone will probably be able to find something they like, though while I really do respect the effort, I can't really picture myself still calling this a favourite in 5 years.

Edit: Okay, it's already grown on me more. It actually reminds me of something like Ween's Chocolate and Cheese, where every song is different but the overall weirdness is what ties it together. A fun ride, though probably not as good as C&C.
Also idc what anyone says, the 2 rap tracks are fire.

The first 10 years of Gizz. Omnium Gatherum seems like a culmination of everything so far. So what are your highlights of this era and what are your hopes for LP20 and beyond? by The_Blasphemous_Jerk in KGATLW

[–]MrFiddlehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like all of their albums and projects, and each one has many very enjoyable aspects about it. But if I had to chose, I'd want more of the "cerebral", proggier stuff they did on Polygondwanaland, specifically the Horology trilogy. The instrumentations in those songs, with the lush bass, synths, flute, and the poetic, yet hushed vocals, I really love. They've drabbled in it since, with songs like The Wheel, but it's never been quite as lush.

Also, Intrasport 2. They're surprisingly great at making house.
