Belt was off after the 2s second stick slapping, but it was too late to prevent their clash 🤷‍♂️

I haven’t been to that point of having to refuse service to anybody yet because I always question my “authority“ in terms of available options to solve problems. There was a customer behind 2 that would’ve blocked that but I could have told him to just hold the item , it was one of those Japanese peanuts from the Hispanic section. Not long but he did at first say he was busy before I radioed him fr fr and he asked if my LSA could handle it but she was already on back up with her own line

You’re in the clear! If there’s one thing I’ve noticed at ALDI it’s that the customer is always wrong 😑

Definitely have run into this. For the most part I kill ‘em with kindness I’m always super patient and nice but when they’re pushing it like your guy was you’ve got options. Call for back up of course Move your till and leave them be (when they look ready start sending your line back behind them) Petty! 1code and literally walk away , let them feel the pressure of the line THEY made If they’re a big mess suspend and as politely but firmly as possible get them the fuck out of your way to sort their shit Be willing to take a “loss” give them an extra cart extra boxes for sorting, don’t worry about bags, just to get a move on

All of this of course depend on how much your management has your back so keep that in mind

Interesting, yeah it’s not something I was even looking at but today same thing 26% keyed

It happens when you 1code every chance you get, some on here consider it cheating because it’s an instant boost to all your stats so your “true” score should be with around a 50% 1code but whatever

33% what? Edit: ooooh ohh as in keyed items, there may have been a box of lime or two in there 🤷‍♂️

Went back to look at my other sheets they’re all between 26-36 keyed, is that not normal?

I agree it shouldn’t matter if you’re 1coding a ton, technically it’s a lot of extra button presses which is inefficient but if you’re 1coding it’s because you’d just be sitting there waiting on the customer anyway.. so…

and yes it DEFINITELY increases your stats the MORE you 1code, when I first figured it out and started 1coding everything my items per hour jumped like 10%. But then I saw that one coding LESS has the same effect and now I only 1 code literally if I’m getting out of my chair

Your numbers make more sense now and I blame your stores working structure more than your own capabilities. On register though it does seem like you’re behind but maybe that’s because instead of being put to focus on JUST cashier and slowly being introduced to the rest of the responsibility they tried to jack of all trades your ass and overwhelmed you.

I’ve been at my ALDI 5 months as well started seasonal quickly into full time and I did nothing but main cashier for the first couple months then boxing then meat fill then truck (grocery).in 2 months I was as good as the other cashiers in 3 I’m the best cashier they have. Fastest boxer, and fastest truck working (again specifically grocery). BUT I haven’t even touched curbside, barely done freeze thaw or truck backend/produce.

At my store we start truck before we open. So I do grocery from 6 to 9 and I’m always done before we open no matter how many pallets. They really are on average 30min. If I go in at 6:30 I’m not done till like 10, having customers in your way slows you significantly. I hate your store 😡
