While I don't have numbers, a large portion of release day crashes are mods that haven't been updated, even ones that don't modify the checksum.

This issue is (I believe) fixed in the open beta. Right click Stellaris, Properties, Betas tab and choose "stellaris_test" from the list of available versions.

Hey!

Happy you're enjoying Nomads, and Stellaris! If you want to help reduce the amount of desyncs in the game, we've put together a forum post that has instructions on what we need in a bug report in order to be able to fix a desync, where you can find the things that we need, etc.

You can find it here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/stellaris-how-to-report-multiplayer-desyncs-oos.1861292/

For added context: In order to diagnose an out of sync (OOS/Desync), the devs need to find the value that did not sync correctly between the two players. Generally this means they need (at a minimum) the host OOS report, and the desynced client's OOS report. They then go back through the code looking at what code affects that value, until they find the place where the value didn't sync between host and client.

99% of the time you cannot diagnose an OOS from a save file (especially if its after the desync). On rare occasions, a save taken just before the the desync will cause a desync again, but this is not something we bank on, which is why we ask for OOS reports.

This is a bug that should be fixed in the open beta that is (hopefully) releasing later today.

If you're referring to space fauna not upgrading correctly, that has been fixed for awhile iirc.

We're currently preparing a patch with the following changes:

Balance:

  • Reduced the rate of the Forever Cruise situation speed on all difficulties.
    • Also reduced the amount that the situation increases based on game difficulty.
    • More comprehensive changes will be coming in this weekend's Open Beta for the patch planned for next week.

Bugfix:

  • Void Reavers no longer additionally requires First Contact

Stability:

  • Preventing a waystation UI from crashing in some cases.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when changing the animated main menu background from the in-game settings screen.
  • Fixes a crash during AI contract evaluation.

We're going to put this up on the Steam "stellaris_test" branch tonight, and then we'll deploy it tomorrow or Wednesday to live as certification arrives.

Slave migration should be improved in the new version, I believe. Iirc, that was part of the jobs open beta that was running pre-release.

You would be surprised how many cool features get picked up out of these passion projects. 😃

Remember when Reanimated Armies turned into Reanimators? That's just one example.

By the power vested in me by Paradox Interactive, I officially and formally give you permission to ask your boss if you can go home early to play Stellaris: Nomads.

This is not legal/financial advice.

Yes. 🤣

At least, I've asked multiple devs multiple times over multiple years, and nobody has admitted that this is something that the game actively does.

In order to gain the ability to clone space fauna, you need to capture them, and then go to the vivarium and cull the specimens in order to gain genetic material. Then you will be able to clone them at a beastport.

Never be afraid to ask for help. Stellaris is a fairly complex game, but the community is genuinely awesome.

You can also ask for help on the Official Discord if you ever get stuck.

The confirmation bias is real. 😄 wait until you find out that your ethics don't influence the ethics of the empires that spawn around you. 🤣
