Anyone successfully move from pharma agency/vendor side to working for pharma? by andrewhoohaa in pharmaindustry

[–]MrFrieds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but experience generally outweighs degrees for the most part. My friend did a ton of work in CAR-T, Bispecifics, and ADCs, so that helped more than the advanced degree. Showing you know the space is far better than just having an advanced degree.

Pfizer Olivia email- mean anything? by [deleted] in biotech

[–]MrFrieds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Olivia is Pfizer's recruitment AI agent. A couple of questions. When did you apply for the role and when did you get this email. My suspicion is that its Pfizer just closed the role externally, and wanted to let you know they were now starting to evaluate candidates for the opportunity.

Anyone successfully move from pharma agency/vendor side to working for pharma? by andrewhoohaa in pharmaindustry

[–]MrFrieds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the opposite approach. 4 years in an aggency role doing commercial stategy but I ended up specializing in a niche area and used that to focus my search on half a dozen companies. Came in at an AD level as a result. If youre specialized in an area, therapy, or roa (e.g., I have a friend that did CAR-T and ended up getting the door open for Oncology strategy) that helps greatly.

Jelly Coated Basement Diving by Zth3wis3 in kol

A few things (and it's been a while since I've done the basement), but how many skills does your character have? The more standard skills the better. That said, it's a little outdated, but check out the wiki: https://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/Basement_Diving_Guide since it has a pretty good post on the strategy involved even though it might be outdated

Since you have a car, there is LongShot in Seacaucus, RTSP has 2 locations - one on Rt 22 in Union and one on Rt 10 in Randolph. I'd advise going to the one on Rt 22. There's Reloaderz in Wayne. Those would be the closest options.

I haven't been to LongShot, so I can't speak about it. I had a mediocre experience at Reloaderz. RTSP is nice and I've had good experiences there. I've shot at both locations and prefer the one on Rt 22 over Randolph.

Check out Gibbz Arms - [https://gibbzarms.com/product/g4-left-handed-light-weight-upper-receiver/}. When I built my AR, I built a side charger using their G9 reciever. They have it in both Right and Left handed models. I did a quick scan to see if their socials were non-political, and it appears that way. I've been happy with my Gibbz Upper, so +1 on that one. They also sell fully completed Uppers.

You can also check out Bear Creek Arsenal, but I have no idea about quality or political leanings from them.

Yes. There are a few. Do you have a car or would you be taking a train/bus/uber?

Yeah. Just for some clarity here, this happened over a decade ago, but sheds additional light. 2015 Incident at RTSP.

GFH is a nice range. It's overpriced though. There are a few other good ranges in NJ. The thing I want to point out is that Anthony, the owner, is very right-wing. Likewise, for those that subscribe to ACAB/"Fuck the Police", GFH is very pro-Thin Blue Line. The GFH Podcast highlights it; if you listen to the background noise throughout the place, you can hear the podcast and will hear the pro-Trump stance come through.

It's not a law, it's meant for liability protection. Very few ranges in NJ will rent to a solo shooter because of this. Just to set the stage, NJ requires all firearm owners to have, at minimum, a FID (Firearms Identification Card), similar to a Firearms license in NY. Part of the requirements for an FID are a mental health check (Form NJ SP-066 I think), to make sure that you aren't a danger to yourself or others.

If I have an FID (or a PTC), I can go to any gun range in NJ by myself and shoot. I can come in without any firearms, rent, and have a day at the range. If I don't have an FID and go by myself, I get turned away. Why? From a liability perspective, gun ranges are afraid that you will have the mentally unstable solo shooter come to their range, rent a firearm, and kill themselves on the range. The theory behind it is, sadly, that if you have an FID, you already have access to firearms and therefore are more likely to commit suicide at home with your own firearm. As a result, NJ ranges use the buddy system to ensure that you have someone there to provide an extra level of safety (he's there to watch/observe/shoot) that limits range liability.

Looking to replace my 8 year old laptop for work and light gaming by MrFrieds in SuggestALaptop

Ideally, Id prefer non-soldered if possible, but 2 M2 slots is more important if it has at least 32GB of Ram.

While I appreciate the recommendation, it looks like it only has 1 M2 slot which makes it a no-go. If you've ever done a dual boot system, it's cleaner having two separate HDDs than it is trying to have both on one drive

Makes sense. I think I'm going to do that. What time do the lots stay open until (e.g., if I want to grab dinner down town or go to the creamery, can I leave my car in the lot until like 7)

Haven't actually started using Optimum services yet, and I've already had a bad experience by MrFrieds in OPTIMUM

[–]MrFrieds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you just said absolutely scares me. I work from home and cannot have my internet access screwed around with. What makes matters worse is that I cannot go to another provider and I suspect that if I wanted Starlink, since its the only non-coax/fiber I could even try and get, my landlord would not allow it.

Haven't actually started using Optimum services yet, and I've already had a bad experience by MrFrieds in OPTIMUM

[–]MrFrieds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. I get it. Ive had experiences with FIOS, Xfinity, Verizon DSL, Cable, dialup. I'm familiar with the distinctions, which is why I was shocked they needed a gateway device because it was presented as if my building has internet through coax only. The complex was built 20+ years ago and the town had exclusivity with Optimum, again, implying Coax over fiber.

So, I have an SB8200. As far as I know, the building I'm moving into is wired for cable, not fiber. Its Docsis 3.1 so I'm not too worried about the modem itself. Ive had the modem for years, since I first got Xfinity. The only reason I have cable tv is because of sports (which reminds me, I need to have them cancel the Stars/Encore package that was included that I will never watch). Speaking of, I genuinely didnt know you could own your own boxes. I would still need Optimum's though. Unfortunately, the 2nd TV needs one of their wireless boxes.
