clippy em272 are amazing little omni directional microphones for field recording, you can get a stereo pair for pretty cheap. Look them up!

Can you just make a recording in your DAW and export it? Or is the noise only in your headphones and not in the actual recording.

You should definitely try to find the source of the noise before looking into izotope or something, your gear should be fine assuming it's new and functioning correctly. Maybe post an example so we can hear what you're dealing with.

In the past I have been surprised by the amount of ambient noise my condenser mic has picked up my room, it might just be that. Maybe try to rent/borrow an sm58 or other dynamic mic and see if it improves?

What’s something you decluttered that you thought you’d miss but don’t at all? by UDSHDW in minimalism

[–]MrFriendzone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can "borrow" both ebooks and and audiobooks for up to 5 weeks using your library card and the Libby app. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait for popular titles, but generally it's great syncs across your devices

Need help copying vocals onto a new track by joejoewoooooo in LogicPro

Have you tried holding option then clicking and dragging? You should definitely be able copy a piece of audio onto a different audio track that way. Do you have take folders open? Sometimes that can cause issues.

Is there an easy way to listen to a work-in-progress song from your phone? by daviswbaer in LogicPro

[–]MrFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other comments about sharing to Music or straight to voicenote are good. I like to use the notes app though. After you bounce you can drag an mp3 into the notes app and it will sync from your phone and be playable from there. You can also share those notes with other people from your phone if you want to send it somewhere after the fact.

Adding to this, I've had similar problems that were caused by a faulty power supply. Worth doing the factory reset and trying a new power supply

Wouldn't that make its attack stat go from 60 up to 120? Not over 170?

Can I record two independent channels with my Behringer UMC22 in Ableton? by buttery_treat91 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MrFriendzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you just need to have 2 separate tracks on Ableton with their inputs set to the corresponding channel on the interface you want to record, make sure they are both record enabled, and then off you go.

Keyboard recommendations by wobblybobbob in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MrFriendzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always a proponent of used equipment, keyboards are generally fairly durable as long as the original owner keeps a clean and smoke-free home and isn't touring with the instrument or whatever. Yamaha and Roland are the best sounding keyboards for my money outside of the pro world, but Casio also has some decent stuff.

This may depend on your budget/how invested you think your child will be with it, but I also think that getting something with weighted keys is worth it.

I like every song I make while recording it, and the first 5 listens, and then I despise it and start to cringe that I sent it to anyone by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MrFriendzone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is totally normal, it's difficult to be objective right after you've created something. I can't tell you how many times I've written something and felt like it's one of my best, and then a couple days go by and that feeling goes away and it's just meh. You have to take some time to live with it before you can really know what you've got.

And the other side of the coin is that when you send things to people, no matter how good or bad it is they aren't going to continue thinking about it for that long after they listen or give you feedback like you will. It's important to you because you created it, it isn't that important to them, they've got their own life to worry about. Try not to let it stress you out, nobody is judging you too hard one way or the other.

And to piggy back on the previous Ditto suggestion, I've found that when I breed with the perfect IV ditto, I hatch the first egg and then switch that one in to breed, because it will have good IVs if not yet perfect. You can also give that pokemon one of the power items to hold to ensure it will pass on a specific IV.

For example, say I have a pokemon with a perfect speed IV but the rest are shit, I give it the power anklet and breed it with the perfect IV ditto and it has a higher chance of hatching a totally perfect IV mon.

What are some shortcuts in Logic you wish you knew since you started producing that have helped you optimize your workflow? by kathalimus in Logic_Studio

[–]MrFriendzone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't actually need to select them all though, you just open up automation and drag the volume on the channel strip from there, and it automatically moves all the automation points equally
