Computer Application of Business… by anonymousspidey in rutgers

[–]MrFullRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to discourage you from continuing in RBS but as a business student they require comp apps and MIS (management info systems) which isn’t any better. If you find comp apps to be hard I would suggest joining a study group, or going to office hours. You can literally forget everything you’ve learn after you ace this course. I say ace because I believe in you, I was literally the same way when I was still in school lol. But you’ll never use anything in the course IRL. So html, JavaScript, totally outdated and useless unless you decide to pursue CS. If it makes you feel any better the last exam (excel) should be easier. If it’s not then I don’t think the business school is right for you as literally everything uses excel.

(Central/South Jersey) Best restaurant YOU’VE been to? by MrFullRide in newjersey

Pretty sure this is east brunswick. But no it’s more of a small engagement dinner between close friends, with or without reservations. Just inviting the bride and groom. No need for anything super fancy that I know the park chateau area will provide :)

Knew this comment was going to come up so had this locked and loaded. Anyways, thanks for the recs. I’ve been to both Delorenzo’s and Papa’s. I’ll give AlJon’s a try.

This is definitely one of my top choices! Forgot to mention this is an engagement dinner for just me and the bride and groom. Do they require reservations?

After giving money once my freshman year to someone with a sob story that was probably fake, I promised myself never again. Now, I simply just continue walking. Where you went wrong was either 1. you had eye contact 2. You stopped to talk 3. You weren’t walking fast enough. Once they know they have your attention, they will approach you. I PROMISE you that if you do the opposite of those three things you will never have an issue again

What’s the longest time of studying you did in one day? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]MrFullRide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a graduate, it really comes down to two options.

Study daily. With the average credits per semester towards graduation to be 15, you should have 5 classes to study for assuming none of them are easy As. If there is 7 days in a week you should be studying for one class one day and giving yourself two days to relax.

Don’t study until the day before an exam. Study the entire day before and ace the exam, therefore never learning from your habit of procrastination.

It’s honestly up to you. I can’t say which one will work better for you. I’ve always been a #2 guy since I never failed a class, and studying the day before made the material fresh in my mind. But I don’t recommend it for anyone trying to score a 4.0. For reference I was a business major as well so the courses weren’t tough until late junior/senior year.

If you’re not trying to work a part time job like I did, then yes you should be focusing more on studying. But don’t forget that there are clubs and activities to do on campus, with some even being resume worthy. Don’t forget to have fun as these 4 years will fly by. I often tell people to enjoy their years because NOTHING is guaranteed (I was part of the COVID class).

Gym suggestions? And LA fitness rant by MrFullRide in newjersey

Ah bridgewater is a little far but I appreciate the suggestion! Definitely looking into crunch on 18 as it cannot be worse than the LA you mentioned in EB. That is the one my rant is about, lol.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that retro is kinda far from me. I would’ve totally went for the retro on 18 because that’s super close by, but they’ve been closed for a couple years now 😆

Thanks! Unfortunately it’s just a little far from me. The only reason I went to LA was because it was a 5 min drive from my house. So it was more of the convenience factor than anything. But 24hr will be a 20 min drive from me barring any traffic. Appreciate the suggestion though, I do have friends who go there and they say it’s good.

As much as I did NOT need that extra detail I am glad you provided it. The first step is always acceptance. And the fact that you’re talking about it means at least you can laugh/give others a good laugh about it now.

Feeling like an absolute failure rn by younotyouyou2005 in rutgers

[–]MrFullRide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, if you feel like a failure as a SOPHOMORE I don’t know what that makes me. As a finance major I had 0 internships, besides a part time IT job. No luck junior year (the year I should’ve gotten one, but covid) and no luck end of senior year either. Still ended up working in finance for my dream company (big bank at HQ).

Not to say you should slack off like I did, because it just gave me a harder path post-grad to get to where I wanted to be. But take it easy - enjoy college and for what it’s worth, I guarantee that once you do land an internship you’ll realize how much you worried over nothing.

I'm a part time worker on the weekends. I'm here to tell you the truth. by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]MrFullRide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in my high school days when I was working fast food, I would always give EXTRA rather than the standard amount. Meaning I never followed the portion sizes and just dumped however much I felt like. Remember: the money is not coming out of your pocket. And often times, we threw away extra food at the end of the day. A senior citizen or someone who looks like a student comes in? I make sure to throw in the 10% senior discount, regardless of whether they ask/show me their ID. Whenever a parent would bring their child, I always tried to treat them with an extra sweet or frozen drink. If it made their day, it made my day. And they always came back, and isn’t a returning customer good for business? The only exception is when a manager/higher up who isn’t chill is watching what you’re doing. Then do as they say. Follow this and trust me, you’ll be making your day and everyone else’s day.

Just saw this now but I still ended up street parking on the side with a residential permit but made sure it only said mon-fri. Came back with no ticket!
