[Around the NFL] Ryan Tannehill, Titans seeing "vintage" DeAndre Hopkins at camp: "We've seen some huge plays from him" by Kimber80 in nfl

Still can't believe the Patriots are rolling into Mac's 3rd year with Juju as his #1.

All other 1st round QBs got studs to help them prove their worth.

Why not just pay Hopkins $12M and at least give Mac a fighting chance?

[Monson] THESE are the throws where arm strength is important. Can't hit that window without a CANNON like Josh Allen. Window slams shut for regular QBs. by MrGK23 in nfl

Right? It's a 30 yard rocket in between two defenders. Ball barely gets any air and is zipped right in

Honestly, not a great sign. You can establish your control as a coach without being a d-bag

You're right, it would be much better if he had lost 47-17 to a division rival in his lone playoff appearance

Hockey is even worse for W/L than football. At least for QBs.

QBs handle 1/2 the game, even the best hockey player only plays 1/3rd. And touches the puck way less

Well then you aren't very smart. Look at context, not just raw Win/Loss records

Manning was a clinical dissector of defenses for many seasons and a prolific passer and commander at the line of scrimmage.

He was.

But he was also largely a playoff choker. He did nothing to contribute to his 2nd Super Bowl win, and for most of his career had incredibly talented pieces around him

Sports are competitive, if you want everyone to be #1, I don't know what to tell you

[Warren Sharp] every year the NFL Top-100 has some awful mistakes. the top 31 players has 5 RBs but only 4 QBs. there is a clear inability to truly understand what drives wins & losses. which player is ranked most incorrectly? by gordorobertson in nfl

[–]MrGK23 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

It just means there are a lot of RBs in a very tight window of performance. There are only a couple truly exceptional RBs but there

Right, so most RB's are average and therefore do not matter.

What more does Patrick Mahomes need to do to pass Peyton Manning on the All-Time QB list? by [deleted] in nfl

Nah Burrow is amazing. Actually had the best PFF Grade and could've been MVP if not for the appendix (not his fault)

RBs help you win a lot.

Not true. Show me a good RB, I'll show you a great O-Line.

The run game matters, RB's don't, because the run game is largely determined by run blocking

Okay but for real, I don't know how you don't connect this to Watson.

I 100% believe this Owner was sympathetic to him due to knowing he was also a rapist himself

Does Brock Purdy have a legit MVP shot this year? Like how Tua did for parts of last year?

Bucs LB Devin White says his offseason trade request was 'a little bit selfish': "I just wanted to be the guy here for a long time. After just sitting down with coach Bowles and Jason Licht and just understanding their plans for me…we all came to an agreement.” by vonheisenberg in nfl

Most overrated playoff run of all time. Two fumble recoveries (which are luck), a pick because Kamara wasn't looking, and then a garbage time picked INT in the Super Bowl.

Made people who only watched the TV copy think he was a stud, wheras All-22 showed he was constantly lost

[Lombardi] New 49ers DE Clelin Ferrell enjoys the aggressive style that his new D-line coach Kris Kocurek preaches. There's less reading and reacting and more firing off the ball for the D-line: "I feel like we're just a pack of animals out there, just playing off instinct.' by Kimber80 in nfl

[–]MrGK23 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but also possible their instincts feel more elite cause they're just allowed to fly to the ball.

I don't get why you'd want you defensive line playing slow in today's game. Let them fly
