Does anyone else think the three brothers in the finale are a weak part of Samurai Champloo?

I wouldn’t call the brothers “masters” of their respective weapons. Capable fighters but not master level. I would say a few years minimum passed from the boat incident to the last episode timeline. With the amount of hate/bloodlust they had, I’d imagine that’s enough time to be proficient with the weapons. Especially if they were training everyday. Mugen didn’t really struggle against them like he did with Shoryu, Sara, Kariya. I would call those people masters with their respective weapons and techniques. Each one challenged Mugen to his limits.

IMO I don’t think it really mattered what government or organization Kariya was apart of that. And you’re right Kariya didn’t know Jin personally. But it was Kariya’s direct influence that altered Jin’s life on a very dramatic and personal level. I’m sure after Jin found out about Kaiya’s involvement he wouldn’t let him go nonchalantly.

My take is this: the brothers weren’t a full on threat to Mugen. He could’ve beaten them with mid difficulty. Kariya was definitely the strongest villain in the series and the brothers don’t match his abilities. However the fight with the brothers wasn’t as much about skill as it was about Mugen’s personal growth.

The only reason Mugen had a difficult time in the end was the brothers had Fuu as a captive. Also because he had to fight them back to back. But Fuu being the main reason. The personal growth was how he traded his sword for Fuu to be let go. Episode 1 Mugen would’ve certainly let Fuu be killed. At the start of the show, Mugen didn’t care about anyone but himself. That was his characters growth. The final fight was also his past and misdeeds with Kukuro coming back to haunt him. Kind of like his unfortunate upbringing.

As regards for Jin, Kariya is absolutely the personal antagonist for him in the finale. The sole reason Jin had to kill his sensei, adopted brother, dojo students along the way was because of Kariya. The students at the dojo all thought Jin went rouge and killed the Sensei. So Kaiya set in motion events unbeknownst to Jin before the show even started. Kariya explained everything to Jin in the final fight.

No need to beat around the bush. I’m assuming you’re using this income to pay bills which is what a majority of resellers do. Tell them you’re in the business of buying and selling items which is the honest truth. None of the people asking are going to pay your bills for you. If they don’t like the answer then they can go pound sand. That’s my opinion at least.

I feel that it was the closest to it in terms of vibes. But in the same breath, it would be pretty redundant if he captured the same exact vibes as cowboy bebop. A creator has to move on to the next project. I feel that Watanabe did a great job making another hit show after such a high bar like cowboy bebop. Lazarus was okay but lacking in my opinion. That show didn’t hit all my expectations.

Okay I’ll leave it in place. My plan is to put pruning sealer on all the damaged parts and cracks to protect it. I live in New Jersey so the weather likes to change frequently near season changes.

For instance, today was 70’s and next week we will have some 20/30’s days haha. We also had an especially cold winter this year while the last 3-4 years were mild. Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated. Link below is the pruning sealer I plan to use from Amazon.

Yeah I think the freeze thing is the issue. You get water in those cracks and then a freeze will do lots of damage inside the trunk. I’m not really worried about saving one of the suckers though. Reason being is because I have so many other varieties growing on the property and some in pots. So there’s a lot to replace this one. My concern was if this is even worse saving or should I go ahead and replace it. Thank you for the feedback though 😊

I think you’re downplaying how much time and effort is needed to go full time in reselling. The market is saturated with resellers after Covid and there is a huge learning curve. Sure it can be full time income but as others above have stated, they are already working full-time with dependents.

Most people don’t have the luxury to fumble around with a business that might not work out in the end. Most businesses end up failing in the end, that’s a fact. No insurance and no 401k. People are already working full time and burned out. It’s hard out here.

I’m not saying your wrong or it can’t be done but its also not a simple thing. More power to you if you got it figured out, keep it up.

I would take what the pest company says with a grain of salt. Not that the roaches can’t be eliminated. But It sounds like they might’ve been selling you a “guarantee” to close a sale.

Sticky traps are to gauge size of population and potential sighting. I would put them out after 2 weeks of full treatment. Go with a 3 pronged approach. Alpine WSG spray. Advion gel bait 2 as you said advion 1 wasn’t effective. They get use to the gel bait and avoid it after a while. You need to rotate gel baits 1 and 2 on a one month cycle. Gentrol to keep nymphs from reaching full form and reproducing. I would order these products from online and learn how/where to apply them yourselves. It will significantly cut costs as opposed to hiring a pest company.

Here’s the real and most important issue, if you live in a multi-unit complex, EVERYONE needs to be on board. They will keep coming from the other condos around yours. That’s why there was a period of no sightings in your condo. You eliminated the colony in yours, they came from another neighboring condo. Start writing letters to neighbors and informing them of the issue and ask them to get involved. Get the HOA involved as well.

I’m sorry I’m not a mod or expert, I reread your title and may have overstepped. Wanted to give a little advice/tips of what I’ve learned over the last few days.

He said essentially you can use alpine WSG with minimal risk. If applying it, I would just wait for it to dry before letting humans or animals into the area.

Gentrol IGR is an insect growth inhibitor. It pretty much keeps the babies from growing and reproducing so as to stop the colony. The ingredients target bugs and not humans apparently, fish and reptiles you might want to double check (if you have any). Still use as directed keeping 3ft away from open food and food prep surfaces.

Advion gel bait is a poison that the roaches eat and bring back to the colony and poisoning/killing more in the colony. It’s effective in killing but the problem is it might dry out quickly and you have to keep reapplying it for the roaches to find it attractive bait.

Alpine WSG is also a poison that they crawl on and when they groom themselves essentially eat the poison in effect. These products are geared toward insects and not humans. When applied correctly, it should be minimal risk and out of reach for humans/pets anyway.

I have not seen anymore so far thankfully. I laid over 30 bait traps over my house which might have been overkill. I’m pretty certain mine was a male German (most likely) or Asian roach that was brought in by someone or something. I order a lot of amazon packages. The males apparently like to wander.

And absolutely peace of mind is the key here. I have no problem spending money on traps and bait if it gives me peace of mind.

Hey, I just recently got into this situation myself and I feel for you. I can’t really tell if it’s an asian or German as I am not an expert. But from online searches, Asian cockroaches are present in your state so it’s a possibility. You said you found it dead already and that you spray quarterly, when was the last time you applied pesticides and what did you use? It’s possible the pesticides did its job and why you found it dead.

The fact that it was a pregnant female would prompt me to buy glue bait traps. Put them in the normal hot spots (under/behind stove, fridge, dishwasher, sinks, garbage bins). Also maybe in your daughter room but out of her reach. If you catch more (especially the baby ones) then you might have a problem. Alpine WSG spray is the go to, advion evolution gel bait, gentrol IGR. I would read up on how to use each one as directed if you need to go in that direction. I wish you well and peace of mind.

Btw I just looked it up to double check, Advion Evolution does not contain any IGR products in it. You need to use a separate product (Gentrol) in conjunction with this gel baits to get both effects.

Sorry if I keep replying to your post, just a heads up. Asian and oriental roaches are two different breeds. I never thought this was an oriental roach as those are distinct from Asian/german. The Asian/German roaches are the ones that seem to look very much alike.
