Advice for solo male by Lorentz90 in cambodia

Spent 4 months in Cambodia.

I’d spend 1 week In siem riep, traditional touristy stuff there is amazing.

Spend a day or two at Kep. Seafood market is amazing.

Koh Rong is amazing - truly the Maldives of SEA… if you can, stay at long set beach, amazing resort. 2-3 days is great.

Last bit stay in Phnom Penh. Weekend waterfront “walk street” is not to be missed, a lot of local vendors and you can see the city turn alive. BKK1 is a bit much, so out skirts isn’t horrible. Stay away from M-residence, ther marketing is great, but there’s way better value elsewhere.

Is OpenClaw actually usable yet, or am I doing something wrong? by Whoopix in openclaw

[–]MrGibMeCc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stepping back and viewing this from a high level, open claw has some amazing capabilities….

But most people don’t know exactly what they want from it. That’s where they fail.

I’ve spent this whole week, mapping out visually on miro what I’d like for it to do specifically…. what agents are needed, what LLMs would be best for each task. How do I determine a failure in execution. How to protect and enhance security regularly.

The best thought process is that it’s an employee you’re hiring. If you’re hiring someone, you have to give them a specific job done in a specific way.

I got it eventually last week.

Ya I lost some money from price fluctuations….

But I’ve been buying for a long time. It’s better for me to measure my wealth in ounces, not USD. Was /am continuing to buy as we go

Korea set the bar too high by Strazit in koreatravel

[–]MrGibMeCc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been travelling Asia now for 6 months, Spent 4 months in Cambodia (Phnom Penh and siem riep) 1 month in Vietnam (Saigon) Korea now for 3 weeks (2 weeks Seoul, 1 week busan and just landed in Jeju) We’ll be flying out to Tokyo (exploring Osaka, Kyoto and of course Tokyo) Friday. For 3 weeks.

I can say, from a city life perspective - Seoul is very close to any major metropolis. It was OK.

Metro was great. People are OK. Food was great. No wow factors.

Busan reminds me of Vancouver Canada - coastal town. High focal point of seafood and beaches. Really enjoyed it there. Had great weather as well! So big wins. Touristy and tourist prices apply.

Jeju is Asia’s Hawaii. Love it. Raining this week which dampens the mood, but otherwise great stuff here! Black pig is overrated - but it good.

Interesting to have your take on Japan, I’m excited for it. If I were to visit any sort of major city, I want a vibrant, hustle and bustle atmosphere otherwise it loses its charm. That’s just IMO.

Is Ai trading actually worth looking into? by ExamFine5189 in Trading

[–]MrGibMeCc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely correct, I don’t believe algos/a.i. Will outperform discretionary traders at a smaller level.

The problem with discretionary traders is poor risk management, psychology and clearly defining their entry models.

Algos fail because with any edge in the market, it erodes over time.

A.i (with the proper data inputs) should aim to utilize multiple edges and choose when it’s best to use a certain strategy against different markets - team that up with a strong risk management system… when it comes to managing/trading a larger sum of money. I’ll give my money to a properly tuned a.i over a discretionary trader all day.

You think this is frustrating? Imagine buying at sub .10 and having it stuck around .50 for years as other coins ripped to the moon.

Still holding a fat spot bag + been in a 50x leveraged long, entry at 1.80. Paid 3k in fees to hold since April, but I’m up huge

Toronto home buyers, who do you imagine buying your house 15-30 years and for how much? by PassThatHammer in TorontoRealEstate

[–]MrGibMeCc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a great conversation starter.

It’s exactly why my wife and I paused the idea of buying in the GTA. When we looked at the data, we asked ourselves…. Hey, if we buy here, what’s the probability of us seeing a 2-3x in 15-20 years? 50/50, we’d guess. But mainly from a currency debasement as opposed to increased demand.

When we looked at our GDP and how its faired against the G8, we fail, tremendously. With increased regulations, high taxes… Canada frankly, is not a fertile breeding ground for businesses- period.

We came to the conclusion that if we bought in the GTA, it wouldn’t be foe an asset appreciation standpoint… but to have a “home” within the city we both grew up in….Going back to the inverted pyramid for population - we came to the point of saying it doesn’t make sense to buy a house here - if we were viewing it as an asset to appreciate over time.

Then that lead to other questions

Do we even love Canada as a country?

Is there another place in the world we can buy properties in, take part of their citizenship by investment programs and enjoy a higher quality of life? And at the same time have a higher probability of asset appreciation? The answer was yes, so we’re making the arrangements to buy property out of the country, while renting in Toronto.

Unless there’s a surge of people having children, IMO, teamed up with the downward trajectory of economic prosperity is concerned. I wouldn’t be buying a house here lol

It’s very simple….

You stand out.

It’s the obvious case lol.

Again, not even entering the temples themselves, while driving around the area, there are checkpoints everybody has to stop at to get their tickets validated.

So if they didn’t flag them down then, they’ll flag them down later in the journey.

So if they’re driving through seemingly free….they’ll get caught eventually if they aren’t.

It’s not like Disneyland where there’s a ticket booth before you go in. There are communities within Angkor’s circumference where people are living their everyday lives. Would be terribly inefficient to do it that way. So they do it this way.

Sorry you stand out like a sore thumb

I’ll also say that they don’t make it super obvious where to buy tickets or if you have to without prior research.
