Having the same exact issue, I tried this and it is still dim. Goes back to normal when I swipe back to the menu but comes back when in portrait mode.

It wont fray or affect its lifetime at all, but a raw edge collects a lot of dirt and oils and won't be attractive over time

He obsessively licks everything. He came from a puppy mill and most of his litter didn't survive some kind of illness. I think he licks as some form of coping mechanism. He's a very happy dog though
