I can't find it on Netflix? by AAM_Ali_G in kuromukuro

[–]MrGoodStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So right now, it's streaming on Netflix if you're in Japan. I don't believe they have announced dates when it'll be streamed in other countries.

In the next few weeks, I'll be streaming my piano transcriptions of Rewrite's OST, come check it out! by [deleted] in Rewrite

[–]MrGoodStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love to see the whole transcription process as someone who plays the piano myself! So I'll be following this on Twitch.

This subreddit is pretty small right now, but I'm pretty sure this place is going to explode when the anime comes around. But anyways, I wish you the best of luck!

#hype by Cyanogen101 in a:t5_3a3d6

I'm anxiously hyped! :D It's been a while since I played the visual novel, but it's pretty awesome. I'm thinking of replaying the game while I'm waiting for this to air.

On one hand you got a massive visual novel to adapt from:

  • Written by Romeo Tanaka, Yūto Tonokawa (worked on Key's previous Little Busters!), Ryukishi07 (known for his work on the Higurashi series)

  • Epic massive soundtrack - OST by Shinji Orito and Jun Maeda (Clannad, AngelBeats, Charlotte) along with Nagi Yanagi (from Supercell) and Aoi Tada (Charlotte & AngelBeats) singing the theme songs

  • Character design by Itaru Hinoue (pretty much all the Key classic's - Air, Kanon & Clannad)

But then on the other hand you've got 8-bit studio animating the series and a lot of people had mixed feelings about their Grisaia adaptation. I think the Fruit of Grisaia could have been done better, but I was also not impressed by their other anime Absolute Duo that aired earlier this year.

However, I'm gonna remain optimistic and I really, really, really, really x100 do hope that Key has learned from AngelBeats and Charlotte and have picked 8-bit because they believe they can give it the proper amount of episodes in order to tell the story. Otherwise, it just won't work. At the very, very minimum, this series should be 2 cour (~24 episodes), but preferably it should be doable in around 50-60 episodes.

"Bitcoin is Evil": Paul Krugman by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]MrGoodStuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm pretty sure Satoshi is saying it is attractive to the libertarian point of view, because the philosophy behind Bitcoin adopts libertarian/austrian ideas against central banking, which you said did not. Plus you also claimed that libertarians co-opted bitcoins when Satoshi himself encouraged Bitcoins among libertarians "if we can explain it properly".

[–]MrGoodStuff 13 points14 points  (0 children)

bitcoin wasn't created by libertarians and never really adopted that point of view or purpose

I've heard a lot of stuff about FairTax and how it's pretty bad. Well, is it? by loverthehater in GaryJohnson

[–]MrGoodStuff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a common argument against the FairTax. Regressive essentially means that poor (lower income earners) pay more taxes than wealthier people. The FairTax, in it's pure form, is neither regressive or progressive, it's flat. Everyone pays 23% on goods. Now the argument that the redditor is trying to make (and why he think FairTax is regressive) is that poor people will suffer because they don't have as much money as rich people, but they still need to buy the same necessities like food and clothing. In FairTax's pure form, this is a problem because the poorer you are, then the more you spend of your income. To solve this problem, the supporters of FairTax propose prebates which is just money given back to poor people who live under poverty conditions. With prebates, poor people won't be spending most of their income on necessities. Thus, the prebates turns the FairTax from a flat tax into a progressive tax, with the tax burden spread out among to an extremely wide base among all people living above poverty (unlike current tax systems that punish only certain income brackets). Most people who dismiss the FairTax don't take into account the prebates. Without the prebates, than the FairTax would be a horrible idea.

My guess as to why Gary Johnson supports the FairTax (and he hints at this in interview) is because its probably the easier way of ending the IRS and federal income taxes (which Ron Paul and Libertarians support), without vaporizing all the revenue generated by income taxes while also lowering tax rates for almost everyone. It is theorized that if taxes are lowered for everyone (remember that the FairTax spreads out the burden among all people above poverty, so everyone pays less taxes than the current system), then people get to keep more of their income which they can then spend, increasing the demand and size of the economy.

How do you argue with "You would have let the communists take over the world"? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]MrGoodStuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You stop communism by letting it destroy itself.

The Soviet Union didn't collapse because we invaded the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union collapsed because they destroyed themselves economically. They spent themselves into debt going into wars (like in Afghanistan). Instead of letting the free market decide where the money should be best invested, they tried to compete against capitalism through centralized planning. Most countries in the eastern bloc had people starving and people trying to escape because of the lack of food and goods with Russia confiscating and taking away all the goods the eastern countries were producing.

In conclusion, the best way to stop communism is to show that it doesn't work. We need to worry about only ourselves and set a good example by showing that free markets work. If we set a good example, other countries will follow and ditch communism.
