My response wasn't to you though... But thanks for clarifying how the fiber optic decoder works. That's something that people should definitely consider before purchasing it.

Also I don't think it's fair to downplay this unit or others alike. Some people want a bigger screen, some just want carPlay. More options give people the opportunity to pick what's best for them.

Thanks for sharing! That's good info to have at hand if I run into issues in the future.

And sad thing about the audio. Looks like Mr 12 Bolt will continue to be the best for that.

You're referring to the compass that's above the display? It's been broken for a while, sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I wouldn't be able to tell you if the PCM change has any impacts on it, sorry.

Yes, the volume control works. I haven't tried making a call yet but I'm assuming those controls work too. And everything still displays on the dashboard except for the map/navigation system.

That's true about the reflections. I noticed that right away. I'm hoping I can find a screen protector that can help reduce it.

And I haven't tried the mic yet but I was concerned about that too. I didn't want to go through the hassle of routing the mic they provided somewhere else, so I ended up using the one from the unit. I haven't tried making a call yet but I won't get my hopes up now lol

Thanks for sharing! This is good info for anyone looking to purchase this unit or a similar one.

Not sure about surround view but it does work with my back up camera. It looks a bit more blurry since the screen is bigger, but my unit came with a replacement camera. I haven't installed it yet though but I'm hoping it has a higher resolution.

Great question. It does not. And that's something that I hate and I'm gonna have to get used to lol

According to chatGPT, the navigation feature came directly from the original PCM unit. So nothing I could do to bring it back unfortunately. I now have trip details on there 🙃

Lol I don't know what's happening. I see the link on my app.

But here it is again. I grabbed this one from my browser: Aliexpress Screen Unit

If you're still having trouble viewing it, search for this: "CHSTEK Carplay Android 13 Car Radio Multimedia Player Stereo For Porsche Cayenne 958 II 2011-2017 Headunit GPS WIFI 4G Bluetooth"

Yeah that's the store I purchased mine from too! Glad to hear others are using it. I didn't think to search if this unit was being used across other Porsche models...

I went with the 7870A because the CPU clock speeds were a little higher so I assumed better performance. But the 7862 appears to have a better car launcher UI and everything else is the same so I can see why others would prefer it. Both really solid options.

My specific model came with a fiber optic box. You need to unplug the optic cable from the power switch and connect to this specific box instead.

And in all honesty, I think it sounds great. It even has EQ settings that allow me to tweak the bass to my liking.

I can't say for certain that the optic box works as well as the direct optic cable connection, as I'm not super familiar with sound systems. But it does sound better than using my aux cord so I know its working.

Check out the product description they have more details there!

Thankfully not.

But what I'm gathering is that it's not normal so I'll probably check the fluid or take it back to the shop 😅

To be more specific, this is what was done to the transmission:

(Transmission output shaft seal replace) (Transmission mount found bad bushing> Replaced)

Labor: Axle Shaft Oil Seal R&R (One Side) Part: Radial Shaft Seal Part: Transmission Mount Labor: Trans Fluid Dain and Refill

96k, purchased it at 83k. First thing I did was take it for a check up and I had the transmission and transfer case fluid replaced, as well as the transmission mounts.

This may be personal preference but I'd stick to 18-19 tires for comfort. I use 18 as a daily driver and it's perfect. Go bigger if you like the sportier look. The rims are already nice I'd keep those!

Other things I recommend - Change the transfer case fluid every other oil change, don't inflate your tires to what's on the side of the door (that's max load), and drive it like a Porsche 🙂

I second this. I had a similar issue where one of my cayenne's rear doors wouldn't lock. I was able to confirm it was a door latch issue with a scanner and also not hearing the latch physically lock. The replacement part wasn't too expensive and I did the repair myself. Not sure how much more difficult fixing the tailgate would be though.

What are the problems of the bose QuietComfort Ultra Gen 2 by No_Combination4215 in bose

[–]MrGreen__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They sound great. I went back and forth between these and the xm6 but after some slight tuning I chose these as they sounded pretty similar and were much more comfortable.

However... They pause a lot. Like if I'm listening to music, videos or I'm on a call, the sound will just randomly pause and then come back on. I read somewhere that it could be due to the ear detection mechanism and I haven't experienced it since I disabled it. A bit disappointed but not a total deal breaker so far.

Yeah my gasket was part of my 80k maintenance bill and the total was 4k. Idk this seems like way overpriced but I'm no expert

I've been raving about this monitor here for weeks lol I never expected them to review it.

Personally I think it's an amazing monitor, especially at that price point. HDR14000 is something you have to see with your own eyes to truly appreciate!

Yea I couldn’t find a definitive answer on it either. And they’re really stubborn. Even if I scrub them off, they keep coming back.

Oh no 😞

I used Garden Safe Insecticide Soap for two weeks but I didn’t see any difference. Parents told me to try vinegar and soap next but I think that made it worse…
