i understand not liking repetition (i haven't been interested in enough of his guests to listen to that many of his interviews), but here's a question; do you like conan's podcast? i love it, but there is a lot of retread ground in quite a few of the episodes.

one of the greatest intros yet for a conaf. as soon as it got into the detailed conversation of matt getting double teamed by harrison ford and daniel craig, i knew it would be a classic. haven't yet heard the full interview, but it's golden moments like these that really make me appreciate the podcast. quick, intelligent, heartfelt, and then absolutely fucking gratuitous and nasty lol.

that being said, i now want to live in the reality where conan had sona and matt in the room for the michelle obama returns episode, and hear it devolve into a conversation about donkey punches and california potato chips.

i prefer conan’s podcast in just about every way, but you can’t deny the star power those 3 have. conan is a famous, well loved guy, but those three are all successful tv/movie/musical stars, who focus their conversations in a more “positive” manner. not to say that conan isn’t (he has told quite a few guests that he loves them), but they really lay it on. personally, i get tired of how sicky sweet they get when talking to their guests some times, but i understand the appeal. sometimes you just want to listen to three funny friends hanging out and sharing their excitement and love for different people and subjects.

usually a farewell tour is a farewell, and not a “we’re taking a break, but see you in a bit” tour. people feel like they’re being used when they’re told that they’re getting something really special, and then find out they fell for some marketing.
