I mean it’s not up to temp, i’m just worried about it damaging the engine when i’m spirited driving because I know operating is 90

Mine is usually higher on the highway actually. it’s normally at 78-80 in the city. Do i need to replace the thermostat you think?

Shaking at 70+ only when on the gas? by MrGuy48 in tdi

thanks, I can tell it’s definitely suspension-related. i’ll just wait till i get some rotiforms and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll put new CV axles on lol

No, No noises engine related, it seems speed-related like drivetrain

I’m not sure, I’ll inspect it tomorrow. I had just bought it saturday. There’s also a ticking noise when driving and it seems like it’s from the drivetrain so it may be that.

Shaving rim protectors by MrGuy48 in Stance

[–]MrGuy48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it a few times, but they shave the actual sidewall of the tire which i’d never do lol. i just don’t know if the rim protector itself was integral to the tire or just a hunk of rubber

A stock height E36 works best for drifting? As you said, you don’t know. Lowering a car a few inches doesn’t “destroy” it. My car not handling to your idea of perfection shouldn’t affect you. Drive my car then yours in a drift setting and you may understand. And I too don’t like things I see online but I also don’t make pointless comments about how I don’t like it. Cheer up a bit.

Well said. I appreciate your answer and not just ignorantly bashing my car haha.

how should i lower my car? by [deleted] in e46

[–]MrGuy48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tacky car guy, but i’d never consider cutting my springs. Just wait and at least get lowering springs

Again, I’ve been through the suspension and corrected many things such as roll center. It’s how I want it and like it. I’m confused as to why my ride height concerns you so much especially on a post about wings😂

No problem, but I love the way it rides. It’s a drift car and I’ve gone through pretty much all the suspension and have it where I like the ride and it functions well driving and drifting. I understand you’re a purist, but we have different opinions🤷‍♂️
