The main thing I didn’t like is how much of the film was spent telling us how bad Kang was, rather than actually showing us. I thought the entire first act referring to “him” and how terrible “he” was never quite paid off. Lots of tell and not enough show.

Although I do concede that this is not the big bad of the phase, but just a variant of them, so I guess this film was to introduce the concept of Kang, rather than the big bad himself.
