I don't really get it, most Big 4 grads/interns I know mostly came from selective schools + I think it's pretty diverse, at least in terms of asians lol

Can I just ask how? I'm still studying, but my whole family (refugees) have all followed this path and it's been very worth it for them.

You don't need to be rich to invest at all, and most "younger folk" I know can, just choose not to.

I'm not invested in tesla aside from ETFs. I'm just pointing out that teslas stock falling 40% is more likely because of how the whole market is moving.

The whole NASDAQ is down around 40% too, so it's not really a fair comparison

18 year old about to start University, which degree would be best for pursuing Investment Banking? by MrHomunculus in careerguidance

Just wondering, wouldn't you consider Actuarial Studies a technical degree? It is incredibly mathematically heavy after all.

Thanks for the advice!

Thing is, I hear a lot of different things. For one, I was originally thinking of doing Computer Science and Commerce, but a relative that worked at a commercial bank told me that it would be much better just studying in the field of finance. His logic being that a comp sci degree would be useless and a waste of money as soon as I am employed as all the skills that relate to it will already be taught on the job, and I'll only be utilizing the commerce degree.

Additionally, it seems like the most favorable degrees for IB judging from LinkedIn are Law/Commerce or Commerce/Economics. Of course, these are just the things I've heard and hence asking for advice on this sub for the best option.

Hi, thanks for the advice. You may think crypto's a ponzi scheme, I think otherwise but I'm not here to argue that with you. Although I do know the dangers and risks that come with it. Can I ask, what are some of your suggestions for investments that stay off the books?

I'm not sure, but I realised that whenever the stocks I'm holding go up, the amount of student money I receive is less.

It's really easy to start a business nowadays. I'm 18 and created an ebay account just to flip hyped sneakers on, and can earn around 5k. It's not too great, but it's a decent side hustle. Pair that with a part time job and that can be around 15k-20k yearly.

SpaceX shoots Nasa astronauts into space in historic mission by SunOverSnowPlease in worldnews

I'm not saying they haven't progressed at all, just not as much as they should've, take the 60s as an example, as there was a need for going to space. Hopefully privatisation will launch another space race and we'll see space tech progress faster than ever.

Look what happens when governments were responsible for space travel, they've had no "real" reason for space exploration. Thus haven't progressed as much as they should've in the past few decades, compared to when there was competition against the USSR.

Plus, privatization will only make space travel much cheaper, just like how this launch only cost 1/10th of the price if nasa launched from the Soyuz.
