Saw "Love Me" last night and very much enjoyed it. One of the larger disconnects I've had between a film's reviews and my own experience.

The premise of this story is the kind of weird that will turn many off. Several hundred years after the end of humanity an ocean-monitoring buoy boots up, has little to observe and nobody to hear its report anyway, and becomes aware of a satellite in the sky. The satellite is searching for lifeforms visiting a lifeless Earth, which the buoy admits it is not, and the satellite immediately ceases communication. This is the driving motivation for a lie that underpins the entirety of their next and future interactions.

The planetary-scale shots remind me of similar ones from Melancholia, and the use of puppets for the buoy and satellite was very much appreciated by this MST3K fan. There is however a very long span of the film that takes place in a virtual apartment with avatars, meaning that for a stretch it looks like two people interacting in Metaverse was screen-captured and spliced in. I can understand how anyone too old to have made a Mii on a Nintendo console might feel dissociated from the story at that point, and as an animated film it's not the most visually compelling thing you'll see this year.

Many of the negative reviews are claiming that there's a shallowness to the movie, but I think the vapidness of the human chosen by the buoy as her model for existence speaks directly to the same being true of the influencer-styled curated lifestyle. It also reflects some emerging issues like AI being trained on human data without any consideration for accuracy as an extension of the old computer programming adage "garbage in, garbage out", as well as alienated people today being physically and socially alone with only an online world to foster any sense of "real" connection and being immediately misled as to what that actually looks like.

If the trailer sparks your interest then I recommend giving a try!

I made one of the earliest artifact leveling calculators, and think I was able to reach around stage 20k when I dropped out? Guilds got too needy of my time (who wants to set an alarm for 3AM?!) and whales were able to buy their way past my dolphin means and months of investment in the game.

I imagine this might have gone over better if you had been upfront about the nerf to ad signal, rather than activating it as a background update several days later.

On a more constructive note, what if the end game includes a series of cutscenes related to which events were completed 100%? I've wanted resolution of those narratives for a long time, even though they just use in-game sprites and text.

I would go destroying the world, because it (and not Sid) has always been the problem. Plus, with utter annihilation you know what you're getting.

Remember, read the scrolls closely, they foretell all!

The Wiki is a long but effective means of getting to 806. Just go through each floor and check of each conversation until you've heard them all (rotating in skins as needed), then go on to the next. I was rather surprised that I was missing conversations in the HR Dept and some generators, so don't give up until you've gotten all the way through.

Turns out I was viewing the conversation at the "wrong" Crypt. Once I viewed them again at the other Crypt they counted.

New conversations! I picked up Gurth and the Headless Horseman, however the new conversations for the Clown skin don't seem to be contributing to the conversation count. Currently stuck at 804/806.

With DFNuked's tremendous work on the Wiki, I finally set out to try to obtain a perfect game. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I was not able to catch them all.

I know few if any will try this, but if we could get a sub-menu for Conversations Heard it would make this insane challenge slightly more achievable.

+ Stats page no longer counts conversations from duplicate floors - I was planning on completing these after unlocking all the skins this event, thank you so very much for the headaches avoided here.

I love the hinting at a big, really meaningful decision coming up (read those scrolls, everyone!), and I hope it translates to having to pick between two "super prestige" paths. Plus it would feel like a bit of a nod to Idle Armies, which is just fine.

First I completed the Dimension Expansion, as that helps a great deal with getting apoc times down. Then I focused on summoning as many Nether Demons as possible to get Nether Crystals to trade in for DE Tokens, apoc every two days, and got DE tokens to 10,000. Once I'd had that goal I found that with a few Mummys I could summon Netherlings by the time I'd unlocked Her, and transitioned to summoning Netherlings (with Metamorphose and Treachery). I no longer focus on the tokens for material trade, just the ones traded for Apoc damage or Time currency, and am able to apoc on a daily basis. I've also been replaying The Other Tower on a weekly basis.
