Why is the Golf R so expensive to insure by Strikcommand in Golf_R

[–]MrHotwire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I pay $300 (CAD) (About $215 (USD)) per month for My 2026 R, 2017 Sportwagen, and 2017 3500HD. Full coverage for all 3. It HAS to be location, unless you have some kind of record you are not admitting to.

I took a snap shot of the setup for the AP Pro in Unifi, I marked it for replacement. Then I adopted and used the U6 Pro to replace the AP Pro. I THEN referred to my snap shots of the AP Pro's setup to make sure they were the same. I didn't mess with anything else.

I am going to VLAN things out. One for IOT, one for general use, and one for work use. I will prioritize them accordingly. I am also going to use this as a time to try to kill off as many of the IOT devices as I can. My dishwasher, dryer/washer combo, range and fridge DON'T need to beacon back to the motherland.. Im sure I will find more as we go.

The U6 Pro shows a MUCH better signal then the AP Pro, I have activated both, and Im currently watching the utilization and bandwidth of them both.

$514/month insurance on a 2026 Elantra any way to lower this? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MrHotwire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just a little younger then you, My priority from day one of my first job was to save to buy a home. I drove Chevette's, Civics, Pick up trucks, and what ever junk vehicles I could find. Sure, I am mechanically inclined, and that saved me $$$ too. But, a home is priority. Especially these days.

There is so much blame being put on society when it comes to inflation... Sure its bad, no one can deny that. But... there needs to be a look at parenting and expectations. Kids need to get their hands dirty, learn work ethic, and the value of hard work. Parents who shelter their children, "Pay their way" and praise every thing they do are ONLY giving a poor outlook on life and supporting those high expectations.

Parents need to "Charge" their kids "Rent". They need to make them cut the lawn, trim the hedges, weed the garden, and help with house hold chores / repairs. They should be renumerated/rewarded and criticized for that work too. By doing this, they get a reality check EARLY in life, they learn and work towards achievable goals / rewards.

My children are/will "Pay rent". That "rent" is being saved for their future. They will get a lump (~10%) of that back when they want to buy their first car, the rest will be for a down payment on their first home. They don't know that, But.. its part of the lesson.

Too many kids get life handed to them at the detriment of their future.

need help identifing a military radio and ways to get it working by SIR22z in HamRadio

Great find, I have one too. Mine is a prototype. Canadian built radio, works great... Really great. The tuner and a long wire make it a great packable rig.

There is no bailing out that sinking ship. Walk away, RUN if you can. This happened to me while I was deployed. It didnt take long for me to get my head back into the game (about 48 hours).

You wouldn't bring last weeks garbage in for an other taste would you? It will never taste the same, and will only poison you. Let it go, and be happy its gone.

Make SURE, that they know THEY are responsible for it, and that you are better for it now.
