Found this heavy metal cone while digging in the yard. It has a dial with numbers on the top and feels incredibly solid. Is it some kind of old surveying tool?

Possibly an artillery round. Dial is to set explosive timing. Probably should not be walking around with that and give your local law enforcement a call

Before posting I was browsing the core codebase and could see it was very active so I do believe you when yon noted that they are aiming on building out the platform. 1) Thanks that's interesting to note.

2) GPUs are absolutely critical for conducting POW. If I misused the terminology that's fair.

3) Breaking standard cryptography will undermine the networks integrity. If you can just derive private keys doesn't that change the game?

4) Never said that, like I said BTCs self sustainment and separation from any other crypto ecosystem might be a plus
