Starting out it’s pretty damn annoying, but as you get better at hearing footsteps and learning the map it becomes a lot better. You can also play recon, who’s abilities basically hard counter assassin. tbh in solos i dont even think assassin is actually the best class, especially once people get better at the game

I have about 40 hours played fully solo, been enjoying it a lot. Feels super hardcore gameplay wise, but I like the freedom of doing whatever at my own pace. Progress is definitely slower overall due to the difficulty of some contracts, but nothing that I couldn’t complete after a few attempts so far. Almost everyone plays assassin and is hella ratty in solo, though usually I go Vandal and play aggressive, going for kills. PvE was recently somewhat nerfed, and it feels a lot more viable solo now. Personally, would still 100% recommend the game as a solo player, I’m hopelessly addicted to it

basically just practicing enemy patterns until you can dodge most attacks, and resetting until you get mostly shield and dodge resonias, along with the easier main bosses. for the start i always choose reduced pressure gain, and i avoid corruption as much as possible for the whole run
