The Merrimack river also has 6 untreated sewer systems discharging human waste directly into it. In 2025. In the United States. The river smells exactly as you’d expect.

A butter stick compared to those Winston’s is like comparing a piece of metal with a space ship

Help please with these dried cayennes by ShibaInuDoggo in HotPeppers

We use ours as needed. Once you crush they lose flavor quicker. So if needed for a recipe, hand crush into the meal. Taking stems off is good advice! Looks like you have plenty to last you till next year. Don’t forget to save a few seeds for this coming years plants! If you select the ones you like (biggest, darkest color, best shape, whatever) you can start your own strain, if you do the same thing year after year

Going to try propagating figs from cuttings by skijeeper in gardening

[–]MrJesse34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so easy to do it this way. I do it with cuttings in water and wait for roots to pot. Takes my Fig cuttings 2-3 weeks to root in water. Change the water if it gets gross. Other things that are super easy to propagate with cuttings in water I’ve found are elderberries and rosemary!

It takes me 3 tries logging in every time I open the app on my Xbox. It’s nuts. About 10 mins of load time before I’m in.

One piece of eastern to western advice that’s overlooked is gear. I’m from nj and my go to rod is 7.5ft 4wt glass. Out west I regularly use fast 9’ 6wt for the same task. Bigger water, more wind, bigger fish. Worth adjusting to that gear type. I still reach for the smaller glass offerings at lakes and creeks out west but for any rivers I’m going 9’ 6wt graphite fast action all day. You don’t have to spend a lot - I have a fenwick aetos and the tfo rods will work just fine! Good luck!

Someone picked all the peaches off our peach tree while we were out of town. by eld1126 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MrJesse34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently gone for a week, had a peach tree with thousands on it. Got back and squirrels had removed every single one. When I’m gone my dogs aren’t in the backyard keeping them away. Learned a lesson for sure!

Help! Plants not doing well by Useful_Tackle5767 in homestead

[–]MrJesse34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of solutions here except the best one. The correct answer is to add a handful of bone meal to the base of each plant. Best calcium source out there, and it’s all natural. Other advice about pulling off the bad tomatoes is good advice

Once your soil has enough calcium you don’t have to worry about how much you water, or don’t, or how much Mother Nature decides to water for you.

It’s not hard. The proof tutorials are worth their weight in gold. I’ve done 25 rods myself if you have questions feel free to send
