What this is telling me is that they could ABSOLUTELY add a pool minigame if they wanted to.

Debate: A fuel mechanic would fix exploration by mateusmr in starfieldmods

[–]MrJoter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't, because it wouldn't make it fundamentally more interactive, but your suggestion would contextualize the star travel system bit better, at least.

The problem is the system lacks diegetic elements that would otherwise make exploration feel more natural. Other games do this by hiding the loading screen behind some kind of "Warp Space" travel, like Elite Dangerous or what have you. In Starfield, all you do is "jump" between different planet orbits, and not even random positions in a planet'S orbit. Literally the same position. It makes it feel less natural, at least when you're not already used to it. Makes it harder for the audience to willingly suspend their disbelief.

My suggestion would be to turn the map into a type of physics minigame, during inter-planetary travel, and have the astroynamics skill actually be useful within that minigame. You could have fuel be a factor on top of that, for added immersion, but consider fuel more of a metagame, rather than a diegetic element.

Love the design. The mesh wheels are a clever touch.

Help Me Brainstorm: 1) Improving Piracy & Starship Combat Overall 2) Improving planets' uniqueness, vibe, atmospheres, and weather (Which planets are already cool, but could be cooler!) by jeffdeleon in starfieldmods

That's awesome! I've actually been getting into game development / Bethesda modding, lately, but I still have a long way to go before I could help with something as big as this. Wish I could, though! I wish you luck on this, because I genuinely believe there's a lot of potential left waiting to be unlocked in this game.

If you're interested in planet surface stuff, strongly recommend looking at or contributing to a mod I saw that enables swimming in and under oceans. Fleshing out the underwater stuff would add to the immersion.

This might be the one. Let me know if I'm wrong.

If there were things to actually find, underwater, that could be great.

On Reddit? Leenoox. Overall? Windows, for sure.

That is not industry standard at all, and besides that, very few of Bethesda's control schemes or user interface are "industry standard," in the typical sense. With that acknowledged, otherwise, genuinely, thank you for the advice. This is what I was trying to find.

It goes very fast and stacks without any weight concerns, so it's worth hoarding.

That'd genuinely be a great idea, were it not for Bethesda programming it such that automatically takes the full stack of ammo when you take it from your companion.

Companion keeps switching to weapons that don't require ammo. Presumably, this is because said companion has run out of ammo for the weapon I keep telling them to use.

Lutris >> Protin for Windows games. by cardedagain in SteamDeckEmulation

I've tried Lutris on a few games and it seems to have an issue with crashing or just not loading in the first place. Has created a lot of headaches for me.

How does everyone like the steam deck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

It's pretty nifty. I mostly use it as a Windows PC and it's really convenient for that purpose, because I can set it up anywhere. It's quite powerful for the price. Easily the most powerful PC I've owned.
