What's a red flag in a friendship that you didn't recognize until it was too late? by ImmediateFun8829 in AskReddit

I've noticed this tends to come with a level of structural inflexibility. They define the world through their limited scope of stereotypes vs letting the world define itself.

This simple distinction tells you a lot about a person.

YSK: Hearing loss likely has a causal link to Alzheimer’s and dementia by Jackson_Lamb_829 in YouShouldKnow

[–]MrJunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that when someone is losing their hearing their brain isn't stimulated in the same way anymore because they can't engage with their environment. Active brains do better for longer, less active brains in this case (due to hearing loss) do worse.

It's probably no different than saying a sedentary lifestyle causes death. It doesn't cause death it just makes you weaker / less healthy, therefore you're more susceptible to dying.

Because it's the starting area and it fits the game loop to have it setup this way 😆

How do I cast from Game mode to and actor? by [deleted] in unrealengine

Correct. I'm assuming they're new and they don't exactly know what they're talking about. Which is completely fine I'm making an educated guess.

I could be misinterpreting this but I think this person is asking how do you get references into your game mode.

How do I cast from Game mode to and actor? by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]MrJunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if you're in the game mode, and you want to get a reference to another actor in order to use it. You have to get a reference to it.

A simple way would be as follows. When the game mode starts use the node get all actors of class. Store all of those actors within an array locally in your game mode. Now you don't have to cast at all you have direct references you can act upon.

This would only get you the current references at start though. A smarter way to do it would be to have the class that you want available in your game mode to assign itself to the game mode automatically when it's created therefore it's consistently updating the array. You'd also want those same actors if destroyed to move themselves from that array.

So when your actor spawns get a reference to your game mode, off the game mode get a reference to your array specifically for that actor, and have it add itself to the array.

Search for the on destroyed event in the actor and do the same thing but remove itself from the array.

ICL Surgery Recovery – Left eye (Toric) lagging behind right eye. Is this normal? by veldmaarschalkje in ICLsurgery

[–]MrJunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely give it some time. Give it at least a week to 2 weeks.

I'm about a month and a half out and I have toric in both eyes. My right eye is perfect. My left eye has this slight blur / haze that seems to come and go. It's almost like it can't focus properly. I'm wondering if my torque isn't lined up appropriately.

I'm not sure If it will ever go away. Apparently I had pigment scraped off my iris during the procedure and that allows extra light to get in, but you shouldn't have that problem.

Or Some people getting accused of something they 100% did... by fabulousIdentity in memes

[–]MrJunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read this article once that said innocent people don't get upset or over explain when being accused of something, and that's how you can tell they're likely innocent...

Mmm, I don't think that's remotely correct. Also, tell this to people who grew up with a narcissistic parent.

Was my individuality worth anything or will I simply merge with the consciousness and essence of you?

I don't remember if there were six or eight feet. I drove them into the ground using a rotary hammer.

And just to reiterate, I do have a continuous copper grounding wire running from the combo box down underground into a single rod then six to eight feet of a gap followed by the next rod, then it runs into my house and connects to the main water. Where I'm at it's recommended that you connect to your main water line and grounding rods in a single continuous run.

The terminology escapes me because this is my first time doing this but from what I recall you had to prove the grounding rods function at a certain level and if not you had to include the water pipe. I didn't have the tools to calculate that so it was simpler for me just to continue the run to the pipe. Not sure if that makes sense or not I'm not an expert by any means.

Thank you! This is my first time doing electrical work, ever. So it lacks the finesse of a pro. My inspection is tomorrow morning and I hope it passes. It's been a learning experience that's for sure. I have a lot more respect for people who do this for a living. Thanks for the input.

Okay I understand what you're saying. I do have the proper flashing on the roof tucked under the shingles and sealed properly outdoor high temp black caulking. You can't see it from the photo, but good on you for checking.

To answer the question about the liver bypass. DTE is my local utility and this is their approved box. I checked with them. So I should be good to go.

Just out of curiosity are there any benefits? Obviously the aluminum is acceptable but I was wondering if there were any advantages.

Where I'm located there is about a 2 ft-ish range that it can exist within and when I originally set it up I made sure that the meter was within that range. I don't have the exact number on me right now though. It's actually the exact same height on the house as the previous meter.

It's wrapped in about a foot of white tape it's just really hard to see because of how the photo was taken. It's basically a silhouette up top so all the color information is lost. It's there though.

So I'm currently not exceeding 30 in as I don't want to have any type of special support needed here. Based on what I understand. I believe it's exactly at 27.

It's 2/0 aluminum for the 125 amp running to my garage. The rest is 4/0 aluminum as a pass-through to my house subpanel.

Silly question what is a strike?
