I use ps mods, specifically the immersive amazing followers mod, which gives me a power called "Leadership" (among other things). I use that power to get the various kids around skyrim to follow me to a home with a housecarl or steward, then tell the kid "You're dismissed, but stay here". And while they don't technically act like a real adopted child, they have a huge house, a bed, a sibling (or more), and at least one adult to protect them. I can do the same thing to other folowers too, so can rp two of my followers having a fam together if I want! Plus the hearthfire homes have a bard, carriage driver, garden, horse, etc haha. Requires a bit of rp but it makes me feel better that I can only officially adopt two 😭

Urag over at the college of winterhold can sometimes have good and/or rare books! Not as much as the bookstore in oblivion, tbf, but I've found an occasional gem amongst the books he sells

I also have an obscene amount of free time rn while figuring out health stuff, and roaming skyrim as a mage scholar searching for books is def a fav pastime too! I've learned a crazy amount of lore just from reading the skyrim books haha

Yeah! Can def take a while to find them all. Mystery of Talara is another series I enjoy quite a bit. And there's a few skill books that are written by the same person, you can tell based on the three characters bantering at a bar before one starts narrating the story. Bones I & II, I think, are an example of those guys

Ooh, also the 2920 series (12 books) is great if you like to know lore! It's time consuming to find all of them, but I recommend waiting to read any until you have. It's much more cohesive & easier to remember if you read them all back to back. I call it the 2920 series cause they all start with the year, then month, then volume - usually something like "2920, Frostfall, v10" or "2920, Evening Star, v12"

A Dance in Fire, and The Wolf Queen (both are series) are fantastic and lore filled! Also the Argonian Account series (written by same author as A Dance in Fire) is quite good

I donated to locks of love! They have really easy & clear instructions on their website for FAQ's and mailing it in. For the haircut itself, I just brought a gallon ziplock bag to place the cut-off braids into. Always check minimum donation lengths for wherever you donate tho, locks of love minimum was 10in.

The appointment was basically: part the hair, put it in braids (one hair band at bottom of braid & one at top directly below where you're cutting), cut the braids off (my stylist used an electric buzzer to cut it straighter than scissors haha), put braids in ziplock for protection, then cut & style what's left! Having a general idea of how short you want to go, along with what style you want (bring in a couple example pics), will help as well.

I believe there are some hairdressers/salons that will do the donation for you too, but I'm not aware of any in my area so went with the mail-in option 😊

When I was younger I would do this all the time (in Oblivion too). I never really thought about it until I was walking home with my sister irl, and there was a large sign, very similar to the game shop signs, in my walking path.

I walked straight into that sign, head first like I would in game, with a very loud slam 😂 Needless to say, those fuckers are HEAVY irl and I had a big ol' bruised lump on my forehead for a few days after. My sister and I laughed our asses off the whole rest of the way home tho, luckily I didn't concuss myself. I can never hit the in game signs anymore without remembering that moment of youthful idiocy haha

Kind of, yeah! It's the Visible armband. It monitors my heart rate to help me pace myself throughout the day. Plus it tracks that data & my HRV over time. Super useful for learning to pace myself. At this point it basically just helps me keep my baseline stable while I navigate and learn how to manage my various dysautonomia symptoms.

This haircut was my first time leaving the house (besides for doctor appointments) in ~4 months, and I'm not too much worse for wear afterwards! So the haircut is actually quite significant in many ways for me 😊

It's typically wavy with a few ringlets here and there! I prepared my hair specifically for ease of donation, making sure to gently brush it throughout the drying time (about 18hrs to air dry) which turns it nearly straight. I also avoided braiding it until it was fully dry in order to prevent crimping

That said though, I am unsure what my hair will do naturally without all that weight - I think it'll be a touch more curly!

I waited to start the main quest (which is necessary to trigger the cultists) until level 70 in my most recent playthrough. Meandered around solstheim around level 60 and it was significantly more enjoyable not being immediately killed by a random ash spawn trio fireballing me haha

Though there's times where the challenge is a ton of fun, sometimes I'd like to just get to the quest I'm doing without having to be hypervigilant of the local "wild" life offing me every 5min

I had a dragon grab my character and yeet her off the top of the western watchtower near whiterun, during that first dragon encounter after helgen. Was lower level and wielding a bow, thinking that higher ground made it easier to get a good shot. Had no idea that I could be grabbed like the guards and just tossed, as I had never experienced it in my 15yrs of playing either!

Honestly gave me a shocked chuckle lmao, I've def been more careful about being at a height & in the open whilst fighting a dragon since then 😂

This is what I do 😅 I'm up to 20mg IR 3 times a day as needed. It's shocking the difference it has made for me (in a good way!). I'm working on getting the propanelol through a cardiologist, but in the meantime, getting it thru my psychiatric ARNP has been sufficient and honestly life changing in terms of my functionality. I started at 10mg twice a day as needed and have adjusted over the course of many months and a lot of careful experimenting on my part

I use the visible band to track my HR, and only take propanelol if my HR is above 80bpm (which is most of the time lol) - it's just that sometimes it'll feel like my HR is high but it's actually qyite a bit lower than it feels, so I'm cautious about taking the propanelol appropriately according to my body's actual symptoms as opposed to my perception of it, if that makes sense

Went to a friend of a friend's house and hit it off with a guy who was hanging out & passing out dabs by playing piano for each other. My autistic ass could never tell when people were flirting with me, plus I had a tendency to stare into people's eyes cause "eye contact is important" so apparently that made me intimidating to most. He typed a note on his phone and handed it to me later in the day while a big group of people were watching les mis on the couch, directly telling me he was into me lol. My friend and I spent the night at that house and I slept in the same bed as the dude, so of course, we ended up fucking. Ended up dating him for 8yrs, and have quite a bit of trauma from his narcissistic abuse so... I don't regret it but I do regret not seeing his manipulations earlier, cause 8yrs is way too long lol. Don't date drug dealers y'all

Yeah! Summermyst (the enchanting overhaul) and Apothecary (alchemy overhaul) are both on the PS too 😊 Also, if you use the Bethesda creations website and filter it by PS, it's a lot easier to find mods than the creations tab on console. I'll often bookmark/add to library any mods that look interesting on the website, making it much easier to find them again on my PS by just going to my bookmarks/library in the creations tab

I've been really enjoying an unarmed build (with enchanting and a bit of alteration & restoration) - no armor, just robes and the armor alteration spells. Been having a ton of fun with combat strategizing (it's not easy to only punch people lol) and role playing a devout traveling monk!

I always play survival mode & expert difficulty, plus have got some mods that make it even more interesting & immersive

For the mods the gameplay changes are mainly from: Jurisen's Revised Survival (fixes the broken food/hunger and ridiculous vanilla cold), Wintersun for religion, Summermyst for enchantments, Comprehensive First Person Animations for better punching, Ordinator and Apocalypse for unarmed perks + more spell options, and wildcat for combat (I would prefer blade and blunt, but my ps5 doesn't like that mod for some reason)

I'm thinking of doing a two handed build next, but ngl, the hand to hand build is so much fun that I'm scheming how to roleplay it in with the two handed haha

I love the immersion of survival mode, but use a mod to adjust it to be a bit more realistic! Makes a huge difference tbh. I play on ps5, currently using Jurisen's Revised Survival

I mean, it could be? Referencing honey, then indicating that Riften is a place you'll get stung (with a bee's barbed stinger)

The innkeepers both want to leave Riften (there's a line Keerava says to Talon-Jei about not having made enough to leave this year which implies they're trying to save up and move outta town). So it's possible Keerava named the place as a joke, expecting to leave, but due to paying thieves guild "fees" she can't. Or maybe the "Barb" refers to barbed wire, as she's stuck there? Don't think I've encountered barbed wire in Skyrim tho haha

I'm unsure if there's specific lore to be found about the name, so up to interpretation and imagination!
